Re: CONMEBOL Qualifiers
Not to incur harmonica's wrath, but CR would've made the chance messi had at the 90th minute
Overall I felt like argentina were slightly better ,we wanted it more, but honestly I'm still amazed this team actually works and I'll take what I can get

Yeah as if Ronaldo's stiff body would've wriggled away from Fred like that. He wouldn't have got that chance in the first place. If he did it's more likely he would've skied it from that position. It's not 2008 anymore.

Health authorities stormed on the pitch. So it didn't disappoint from a drama perspective either.

Not watched the game but from the lineup looks like a full Arg vs a half B Brazil team? But ppl seem to be praising Arg? Or no need to read too much this game?

Re: CONMEBOL Qualifiers
Well for the fact that Messi is better goal scorer, he obviously wouldn't on average. Btw why do you hate Messi so much, aren't you Argentine?BarrileteCosmico wrote:Not to incur harmonica's wrath, but CR would've made the chance messi had at the 90th minute

If people are praising Argentina, then I must've watched a different game.
Also, Otamendi not being sent off was ridiculous.

Ronaldo is definitely better in those clutch last-minute moments
I dont remember messi doing that very often even though hes a better finisher on average.

Re: CONMEBOL Qualifiers
Ronaldo's playing style is much more conducive to those last minute goals than Messi is though. When Messi gets the ball he makes the pitch smaller and that's a problem when you're up against 11 men parking the bus to save the lead.
He pretty much has to brute force his way through the defense. It usually ends up in a lost dribble or pass.
Ronaldo waits in the box while his team spams crosses. He's much more likely to get a lucky bounce that way. Messi doesn't have the athleticism or physicality to take advantage of situations like that so it makes more sense for him to drop deeper.
That being said I still don't see how Ronaldo would've fared better with that specific chance.

I've said it before but they are shit. What they benefit from is that Scaloni has been playing the same spine since he's joined so the team is all familiar with one another. It's also a team that knows how to suffer and win by playing like shit.
Copa America did well for their confidence too. They are my WC dark horses.

I don't think anyone thinks this argentina team is good. In argentina the memes compare the team to an old car falling apart that somehow still delivers
Fwiw my Brazilian friends tell me they're very pessimistic about the wc too

Re: CONMEBOL Qualifiers
Current state of Conmbeol qualifiers:
Brazil and Argentina are already qualified
Ecuador has a 6 point lead on the rest so just needs 2 wins to make it
Everyone else is within 4 points of each other, which means that everyone (except Venezuela, sorry Rincon) could qualify, and there's only 4 games left.
Big games today. Hope Uruguay makes it.

The moment. I was already drunk because this team stresses me the f out but the tears running down my face when we scored the winner and actually won.
Liverpool fans step away from the Luis Diaz now because he couldn't do a thing against one of the worst right backs I've seen play

Maracana is a horrible stadium for internationals. There's always an incident. They don't even separate away and home fans. CFB should be ashamed
