Pep Guardiola, Diego Simeone, Antonio Conte and a surprise candidate, the CSKA Moscow manager Leonid Slutsky, would be on Abramovich’s shortlist if he was to make a summer change, but the Chelsea owner is yet to identify a firefighter with which to replace Mourinho for the remainder of the season.

Actually hoping Chelsea sack Mou. Literally win-win in his case. (Either a 50m+ payout or reaches "God level" after turning around a sinking ship.)

Chelsea won't be any better if they do sack him with that said. The control the players have at the club is ridiculous.

Apart from European success (where they got lucky in the CL and had a tactical genius in Rafa at the club) they've been quite "average" in the league in recent seasons. Literally have been flirting for 4th since Carlo has left and yet these players have the audacity to turn on a man that brings them success/makes them relevant again? Laughable, really.

Spurs 1-0 up against Villa already through Dembele.

Think this will be a thrashing.

Good luck Garde. Spurs not even playing well and yet up 2-0 at half, and Villa haven't bothered them at all. This Villa team is awful

I don't know if it's because of the early goal or trying to conserve energy because it's the first of 3 games in a week here, but I'd like to see Spurs players letting the ball run and turning forward. Too often the ball is coming to feet and then going right back. That's fine because of the circumstances, and because Villa are pressing decently well, but I just don't care to see it.

Would like to see Kane get a goal here, but Spurs will be alright playing conservatively and walking away with three points here considering there is a game Thursday and then the NLD on Sunday.

Oh, and Dembele is underrated by Spurs fans. Too often he's been thought of as someone who might not be good enough for Spurs but every time I watch him I'm impressed. Yes, he doesn't have the killer pass, but he's developed the confidence to take long shots, he can beat his man like no other, he's got a defensive presence in the midfield and he's so strong on the ball that he rarely loses it. Hope Spurs don't sell him, he's a valuable player.

FT Spurs 3-1 Aston Villa

Kane notches one at the end with a goal he should score but what a confident finish. The best striker in the EPL is back

Disgusting ref. Won't be surprised if he is in charge of NLD this weekend which will of course lead to us losing.

It is funny and I can laugh at it too but if anyone had watched the game you'd know that there were no incidents of bias. If anything, somehow didn't card Carlos Sanchez all game long. That being said it wasn't a tough game to ref overall.

El Gunner coming up with excuses early. Clearly scared to go up against the team that hasn't lost since opening day against Man U where Spurs lost due to an own goal despite being superior :coffee:

Pls CB, have you seeen the record we have when that bloke referees?

Come to think of it though I don't think a ref is allowed to ref any team in two consecutive matches, so that bodes well for us hmm

Btw I would like to say Poch

Up 2-1 and scrambling after Aston Villa are pressing for a second goal and he throws on Onomah for his PL debut for the last 8 minutes. The boy helped in the build up for that goal, too.

Poch finally acting like a coach who has all the control.

I wouldn't say beating the bottommost team at home is that good a time to be praising the manager. Although it is impressive that Tottenham are unbeaten in 10 league games. If everything goes right for them, maybe they can take that step up this season and finish in the top-4.
