Re: -| Former Players Thread| -
Fabio Quagliarella’s agent has admitted that the striker hasn’t taken the news that he is out of Juventus’ European squad very well.
The Italy international was dropped by Coach Antonio Conte for the Europa League squad, with the tactician favouring Dani Osvaldo and Sebastian Giovinco.
And his representative has conceded that the forward will, almost probably, suffer in silence.
“How did Fabio take it? Not very well,” Beppe Bozzo told Tuttosport.
“He’s quietly angry because he deserves more respect after everything’s he’s done for Juventus.
“He’s always been silent and will do so again without controversy. That’s the sort of lad he is.”

A bit disrespectful to Quags, i'd be upset over the way we're treating him if we hadn't given him numerous chances to leave, though.
The club comes first after all.

You misunderstand, we tried to sell him but he kept refusing. So it's partially his fault but still this is disrespectful

Why would we sell Quag
Bring in the scrub Osvaldo, keep the flop Giovinco, and then ostracize Vucinic only for him to come back and get subbed in....
Quag has every right to be mad

Quagliarella could've been something huge in his career I feel.
I feel he just doesn't try hard enough against crappy teams because he just doesn't feel the passion as much and doesn't really care.
When he places on that Italy jersey or he's playing in the champions league the guy plays as any top striker in the world would . For me, he's unstoppable when he's playing his heart out.
It's a shame we don't get to see him play in such conditions anymore

Yeah his injury also screwed up our 2010-2011 season. I remember it was the game vs lazio when he scored a scissor kick and krasic missed an open chance infront of goal. It ended 1-1DeviAngel wrote:His injury ruined his career. And osvaldo is no scrub

Well he's a better option to have than both Quag and Gio,simply put.

I'd rather have a trusted Juventus veteran in Quag daddy than have an overvalued loaned player or a provincial only player.
Re: -| Former Players Thread| -
Osvaldo is a quality sub to have. And bringing him in gives us more indications that we want to take EL seriously. In that respect,i'd rather have a Vucinic-Osvaldo pairing in the EL who in my opinion gives us more assurance than having to play with the likes of Gio and Quag who are more or less hit and miss.
And regarding the price,Marotta confirmed that the price(to buy Osvaldo) is just an arbitrary number and that they will evaluate how things goes by the end of the season.
And we got Osvaldo on a free loan btw just to be more specific.

The only weakness he has is inconsistency, but it partially is because of the ugly injury he had two seasons ago. However, he always gives his best on the pitch and utters no complaints when he has been sitting on the bench most of the time. Very respectable person and as a Juve fan, I will be sad to see him leaving Juve in the summer.

Juve freeze Quagliarella out
Fabio Quagliarella is essentially no longer a Juventus player, as he is now training separately from his teammates.
The striker rejected several transfer offers in January, including from Lazio and Cardiff City, but has no place in the squad now that Daniel Osvaldo has arrived from Southampton.
He was left off the UEFA squad list for the Europa League knockouts and according to Sky Sport Italia is now not even training with his teammates.
Quagliarella’s training sessions at the Vinovo ground are at different times to the others.
This is not a new situation, as the same treatment was given to Vincenzo Iaquinta when he rejected moves and was sitting out the remaining months of his contract.
In this case, Quagliarella’s contract runs until June 2015, but Lazio claim he has already given the all-clear to join them over the summer.

Marotta: 'Quagliarella not frozen out'
Beppe Marotta denied Fabio Quagliarella has been frozen out of the Juventus squad. “He just has flu.”
Sky Sport Italia claimed this evening the striker was effectively no longer part of the team, as he was told he’d be training at different times to his teammates.
“It is not true,” general manager Marotta told news agency ANSA.
“He trained in the gym because he has flu and will return to training with the group as soon as possible.
“We never considered freezing him out because there is absolutely no reason to do so.”
The rumours came after Juve surprisingly dropped Quagliarella from the UEFA squad for the Europa League.
Nonetheless, reports continue to suggest Quagliarella won’t finish the season in Turin, as he could join Marcello Lippi at Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande.
The Chinese transfer market is still open, so Italian clubs could sell to them at any point.
As they are also out of the Coppa Italia, there will be very few opportunities for the forward to play this season.
The situation is certainly tense, as agent Beppe Bozzo said the player is “quietly angry and deserves more respect.”
Marotta responded to those comments too. “I don’t believe agents and the entourage of a player have the right to comment on technical choices or those of a club, so I consider Bozzo’s comments to be out of place.
“Quagliarella is our player and has always been appreciated for his work and contribution to the team.
“The rules of international competition mean we are forced into choices that may well be unfortunate, but forced upon us.
“His absence from the UEFA list should not be considered a lack of respect, because it really wasn’t, and that is proved by the fact the player was warned of the situation beforehand.”

Re: -| Former Players Thread| -
I guess that there is a limit for the strikers.
It was the right decision to leave out Quag. Who would we have left
if not quag? We have an excess of strikers. 5 strikers in EL is more than enough
