Re: -| Former Players Thread| -
Juventus set Vidal deadline
By Football Italia staff
After Arturo Vidal gave a cryptic response on his future, it’s reported Juventus have set a deadline for Manchester United.
The midfielder took part in his first game between ranks since returning from the World Cup, playing 25 minutes and scoring a goal that was then disallowed.
Vidal signed an autograph in Singapore and was asked what his future holds: “Training well,” was his only reply.
According to Calciomercato.com, next week will be decisive for the Chile international, as Juventus are putting down a deadline.
If by the start of next week Manchester United have not made a firm offer of at least €50m (£40m) plus Vidal puts in a transfer request, then Juve will close the door on a sale this summer.

In 2015 we will have better budget and I to think we will be able to spend more, because we have new sponsor, I am sure we will do better in Champions League than this year, and I am sure we will sell one of Vidal/Pogba.

Re: -| Former Players Thread| -
selling Vidal this summer will be very wrongly timed, I disagree with Juventude about the market decides a player's price and what nots, surely the likes of Shaw and all those la liga peasants who were sold for 6 times their market price just cos of one good game they had and you think we should sell the best box to box midfielder in the world currently for a peasant 50m
Untd are offering 50m cos they know no other team is interested yet, I'd wait for next summer and let Vidal have another stellar campaign and when Mehdrid and the Arab mahney comes calling we'll see if Yahnited Peasnts won't offer 100m....
also your market price per age doesn't make sense, PSG were ready to make a 120m offer for Messi, but by your mindset then PSG should have offered 65m since am sure Messi is almost 28 and should start getting injured and what's not.... the club determines the price of the player not the damn market..... it's up to the buying club to test themselves if they are really interested in the player in question or gtfo....
its simple as that.....

Noo, I guess that Marro is thinking more of the future now so he would rather buy than sell. .. This year no start had left and they won't be sold.

Juventus’ Marotta: “Vidal is a case created by the media, he’s never been on the market.

That's consistent with what we've heard. Juve did not put him on the market, but that doesn't mean that United's interested is not or was not interested in Vidal. I firmly believe that United is interested, but they may not be able to meet Vidal's price tag.

Lets just say he's very unlikely to be sold at this point.

I agree. I think it's too late. However, if United drops another match this weekend, I wouldn't rule anything out.

They are looking at other targets too,Di Maria for example who i believe will be much easier to negotiate since Madrid are looking to sell him.

To me, those are very different players. I'm not sure if United really knows what they want.

True.It does seem to me that their sporting director is looking to make a statement after last year's goof-up by signing a big name and appease their fans.
Tbf actually i am not even sure Vidal is the profile of player they need right now.Man U need a DM,assuming he(Vidal) plays next to Herrera,Vidal will play the holder role then ? That would be largely restricting his abilities and he wouldnt be having the same amount of freedom to surge forward like he does at Juve.

Any top player would improve United, the only departments they don't need to bother with is GK, #10 and #9
Everything else is fair game for a team with a lot of money and a mediocre squad.
