I've been playing FM since they were known as Championship Manager and I personally think clubs use the game as an affordable scouting mechanism. And in all fairness, SI does a great job in that department. But Sky really used their stats as a serious way of judging a footballer. On TV.

They lost it by choice as well.

They decided that since the CL wasn't bringing in as many viewers as it previously did and PL ratings were up, they decided not to renew their deal.

Explains the stupidity really. Wouldn't surprise me if they begin to use FUT stats to show which players are on form.
