Giroud is better.
But if they sign another striker and Giroud becomes a sub, I cant imagine him having a better season.

Benteke is a better finisher and more mobile, i do think Giroud is a better overall player though.

giroud is a braver player, always gets into goal scoring positions. Benteke hides when things arent going well for him, plus he's build up play is average.

Giroud is better right now but Benteke is younger and could develop into a better player in the next couple of seasons.

I think it would be a fairer comparison come the end of the season given the fact that Villa and Arsenal have vast differences in ambitions and quality.

Surely Benteke is much faster than Giroud too.
Not sure who is better. Giroud has more technique IMO but is so slow that kills too much in attack, while Benteke is a log...

He is more mobile as well, but that doesn't work much for him as Giroud's movement is smarter.

Giroud's defensive prowess is what makes him that much better. The only thing I would say Benteke had over him is speed

We don't want to replace him actually, we want an upgrade on him. You know, to challenge for the PL and CL and all that, instead of winning just FA Cups and Commy Shields
And the reason we still have him is because there aren't many better options available in the market, even though we have '200m in the bank'.

That said, I still strongly maintain that Giroud's deficiencies are so well rehearsed & harped upon by fans/media that people just don't want to give him credit for what he is good at. Forever the underdog.

Benteke has 42 goals from 88 games in the league in 3 years. 49 from 100 including cups.
Giroud has 41 from 97 in the league in the same 3 years. 58 from 134 including cups (including Europe).

I'm not a big fan of Benteke, but sometimes I see a little bit of a tankstyle Eto'o in him, so I'll go with him. Giroud was decent last season, but his overall return since he is in England is underwhelming considering the team he plays in.
