It was on the old forum, I said Canales would be loaned or sold with a buyback, sportsczy said he would be sold with nothing attached and then we would buy back in a separate deal later because that was our business model

i think that wont be an issue with sports since when this forum started i still remember he still carried over the bet he had with the old forum as well

Depends on how good he plays, personally I like him but not more than Sarabia tbh

I have doubts about canales physically... Needs to toughen up a lot. That's fixable though. Let's see if it happens.

Let me dig up what the deal with Valencia actually is. I think the bet was that there either would no buyback or some crazy one that is basically like having sold him and buying him back at superstar market prices.

More of a reason to watch Valencia for us Madrid fans, aswell as Getafe.

Honestly there is no room for him. Unless he can replace Xabi, I see no use of buying him back again. It will just end with him being benched again.

This Deal means alot.

This deal means mou will be here for the next 4 years,Canales will not be brought back untill mou leave or get sacked.

Honestly,He can make a very good CM by judging from the potential he has shown so far,definitely will be better than Granero.

Our scouts are good but our player management/long term player management is very bad.It has to do with changing coaches like cloths but still that aint enough.

Any way fantastic loan deal ,2 year loan + 18 mill buy back after 4 years is fantastic.

Welll.... Valencia basically gets a free look for 2 years. If Canales, works out and is worth the 12m, they take him. Otherwise, they ship him back. That is not really a secure deal for Madrid because you have no transfer fee now and you're gambling on a player's success. Great for Valencia because it's almost a zero risk proposition.

To make up for the free look, the gap between the 12 million in 2 years and 15-18 million in 4 years is small. It's pretty safe to assume that if a player is worth 12 million at 22 years of age, he will be worth 15-18 million at 24 years of age.

Canales really needs to become a star for Valencia to pull the trigger. Valencia clearly got the better of this one in the short term. There's a narrow, but potentially very lucrative, window for Madrid to come ahead.

if he grows his abilities as an acm, and becomes very good, then we will take him back right?

Yeah pretty much, it's also going to depend of the coach, the formation we play at the time, etc, a couple of variables. If he becomes truly exceptional we will take him back no matter what of course.

But he has a lot of maturing to do, playing as a midfielder implies that you put the attacking and defensive effort, and that you play with confidence, since it's the most sensible part of the team. You need balls and courage, atm he is short of both.

It's one of the reasons he was playing so high for Racing. He has the pedigree to play a lot deeper in the midfield, as ACM, but if the mental aspect doesnt follow, you become a liability; hence he was played behind the striker so he could have the freedom to express his game. I expect growth, for his sake i hope he makes it.
