You guys are a little behind on this. Real is trying to sell him to a Spanish club with a buy back option, but they are demanding a hefty price for this LOAN. So far Villareal and Valencia have told them to take a hike. They did get 2 germany clubs to agree to pay / meet the conditions, but Canales said he wants to stay in Spain and he wants to be on a club that is playing CL. Now the club is trying the EPL market. It's likely going to be the same reaction from Canales (outside chance he would accept if it is a CL team). MY guess is that once noone will pay the price, they will go back to Villareal or Valenica and try a pure loan deal.

What kind of price are we talking about?

I don't remember exactly but it was getting Villareal to pay most of the fee Madrid paid to get him in first place. It looked like they were trying to sell him off and if they didn't buy him back they would have spent nothing (actually I think they would actually make something) and if they do buy him back, the purchasing club in effect paid a few millions just to use him for a year or two (and plus player salary). It sounded to me jst crazy. The big club playing bully with smaller clubs for a recognized talent.

But zealous, no way he's at Madrid this year. This is all about tough negotiations.

Ah, the options. So it could be a buyback deal to a big Spanish club, a loan to a Bundesliga club, or a loan to an EPL club. Why not just loan him back to Racing for a year or two? Or Malaga? Or just down to Castilla, hell, at least they'd get promoted.

whats so difficult with just oaning hi out to villareal? the only good way to go here is loaning him out to a bit table or big club in epl, spain, or bundesliga.

Tbh we didn't even need Canales. We just got him for the sake of buying a talented youth and beating everybody interested him to signing him.

Yeh but Canales isn't a DLP though. He plays pretty much exactly the same position as Ozil and it's not like Ozil is like 28/29 either.

alonso will fulfill his contract. but i think many people see canales as our future acm.

to have canales,khedira,sahin, ozil as our future mid is something special.

canales is born to play at the CAM role.

Alonso has said if the time is right etc then he might return to Liverpool.
