What i mean that it will give excuse for haters that he didnt do enough for argentina. Even though winning copa america and reaching WC final is a great achivement for the supposed national team flop

Pastore. People here are raving about him but this was actually his worst game of the tournament, he played much better in earlier rounds. Today he was unusually wasteful in his passing, got caught in possession a few times, and somehow managed to miss two golden opportunities in front of goal.
But my original point was meant to highlight how good he's been this tournament, that this was a bad game by his standards.

@Dnmac and Buster:
Disagree. Yes, South American football would be much better if it was able to keep its homegrown stars, but I still maintain its lagging behind in terms of producing the technically gifted players it used to. Brazil and Argentina used to produce midfield maestros, now other than Messi and Neymar all they can field are workhorses like Mascherano and David Luiz. Why? Because the ability to kick and be kicked is valued over technique, a complete reversal of the historical attitude. While Europe has produced Iniesta, Xavi, Pirlo, Busquets, Kroos, Ozil, and all the rest, South America has produced very very little, especially compared to what they used to produce.
In my post above I praise Pastore, but ask yourself what it means that he's been the best creative midfielder in the tournament. Socrates would be rolling in his grave.

Messi 4th time official MoM in this tournament.
Pastore a year ago wasn't the same player he's today. PSG almost transfer-listed him this time last summer.

WTF
This is about Argentina winning the CA, not about someone being happy with how many goals Messi scores. If another system works better they should try it but certainly not because someone isn't satisfied by how many goals Messi scores.
Gladly Messi knows it matters *bleep* all if he scores 1 or 3 or 5 goals. There's only one thing that matters and it's winning the trophy and Messi is doing his best to achieve that.

That assertion will not go down well with the elf community. Everyone knows elves and dwarves are not especially thick.

say WHAT?!
best player and scorer in the entire WC qualification, vital winner against Algeria in 119th minute (yet everyone knows he's gassed after 65min right?).

Not sure what's making you think that, I didn't think he was any more wasteful last night than in other games. The difference being that today he finally put away his chances and got two assists to boot. I think that increase in effectiveness alone makes it one of his best games this cup, but they have all been at a high level.
The thing I like about Pastore is that he is someone that you can play off. When Messi passes the ball to Aguero, Tevez or to a lesser extent Di Maria these all hold the ball and try to get past their marker. Pastore will pass it off with one touch, or see an upcoming run ahead, etc. He diversifies our creation and allows Messi to play one twos off him.
Fussball 'good game' doesn't begin to cover it honestly. If he plays like this the final I won't care if he doesn't score any goals, and neither should he. He made 4 of the goals and played at a very high level all night.

Messi doesn't need to score to be the best player on the pitch, he's done it multiple times over. That's what seperates him from any other forward.

First you mention SA clubs then you say it's not the clubs but players that play for national teams you are comparing, please decide already.
Alright then how do you explain the fact that Brazil doesn't have an elite DM or CM? Yet they have players like Coutinho, Firmino and Neymar as AMs/Wingers and Costa was supposed to be their striker.
Not to even mention Argentina. Messi, Tevez, Higuain, Aguero, Dybala, Icardi, Vietto as forwards is not that bad? Not to even mention how many options they have for AM/winger position. Yet they have to play the likes of Biglia and Gago as DMs.
And you're comparing Europe which is much bigger and has many elite footballing countries and South America which has really only 2 football giants yet they are still up there with Europe which they proved in the last World Cup with Argentina reaching the final and almost winning it had it not been Higuain's and Palacio's terrible misses and all of the SA teams proceeding from the group stages bar Ecuador.
It's like you started watching football right now, Copa America was always like this.

Kind of hilarious that Messi is being praised for his creativity & dribbling ability despite his poor finishing while Hazard gets slated by a fair portion of football fans for the same thing. Talk about confirmation bias.

It's not even comparable at all.
Hazard plays with a truly incompetent coach in a negative and defensive setup built around Benteke/Fellaini. Messi on the other hand plays in a high-tempo proactive system which has a World Class player in every position.

? He's only scored just a single pen in 5 games. It's his dribbling & creativity he's being praised for.
Hazard goes past 3 defenders & sets up some scrub that blazes over BUT BUT BUT Robben wouldn't pass & would score himself. Hypocrites.
Pastore, Aguero, Di Maria, Mascherano, Banega, Zabaleta, Rojo, Otamendi, Garay....Tevez, Lavezzi, Higuain on the bench....the likes of Dybala, Vietto & Icardi can't even get into the squad. STACKED ffs.

Tata was a Godin header away from winning the League in his debut season. He's miles better than fecking Wimots, that's for sure.
And where did I compare Hazard with Messi? All I said was that Hazard creates/dribbles at an elite level gets criticized for not scoring enough. Messi does the same thing & it's headline news. Why the double standards?
