Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
For some reason, ISIS never take credit for attacks in Turkey, even though all signs show they're CLEARLY the ones behind them. I wonder why. It's unusual because they usually can't wait to take credit even for attacks that had no connection to them at all (like the Orlando one).

Because although they hate the Turks and view them as apostates, they also want to maintain the ridiculous myth we've heard around here that Turkey supports them.

Not Europe but

This is unreal. I live beside the street where this is hapenning, this place is a regular haunt of mine, I used to have breakfast with my family here...Thankfully I'm in Bangkok now and I'm worried sick, my mother is in tear, had to console her while contacting friends and families.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
Found this quote on reddit and I 100% agree with it.
This may sound crass, but here it goes. As a Bangladeshi, people had it coming. When the Islamic terrorists started to kill atheists, secular bloggers, and extremist Islamic parties are holding mass procession to behead ex-Muslims, atheists, most of the people were complicit. The govt. did not take any action because most of the people were OK, if not happy, with the murders. It's the infidels are getting killed, killers are trying to destroy the enemies of Islam, so no need to worry about that. Many secularist bloggers, journalists, and writers have tried to warn about the danger of sharia law, Islamic revolution. We have so many examples to learn from - Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. But people were too much drunk in the alcohol of Islamic utopia - free of infidels. Guess what? In a muslim majority country, there are not many infidels -- decades of ethnic cleansing took care of that -- after killing all the infidels, whom they are going to turn their eyes on. Now is the turn for the Muslims who are not Muslim enough for the terrorists.
We saw it coming. We had it coming. We ignored all the living examples of countries destroyed by Islamists. We did not do anything because it's the infidels who are getting killed. We whined why others are making a big deal out of it. We hatched conspiracy theories; it's the jews and the christians that are doing it. Now terrorists are coming to get us. Guess what we will do now? We will blame the West for all the killings. We will whine about Islamophobia. We will hatch more conspiracy theories - the jews are doing it. We will claim ourselves "the victim", but we will never take the responsibility that we bred this monster and let it grow. Then, maybe we will migrate to other countries, and start the whole process of building another Islamic "utopia".

This reddit entry reminds me of Martin Niemöller's famous quote about the Nazi regime in Germany:
This reddit entry reminds me of Martin Niemöller's famous quote about the Nazi regime in Germany:
Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

A lot of people are posting this and a variation of this quote on social media.
First they came for the Atheists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not an Atheist.
Then they came for the homosexuals, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a homosexual.

Because I was not a foreigner.
Then they came for me...

It's sad, isn't it? History is repeating it self so many times, just in slightly different flavours. But the end result is pretty much the same all of the time.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
What the hell is happening in Bangladesh all of a sudden.... It started slowly few years back now the Islamic terrorism is uncontrollable.
They are killing all the non Muslim just out of hate.. Their minority population is very small and probably Hindus who aren't exactly known for causing problems.
Things escalated quickly. That post M99 posted is the problem with politicalzing islam. It plays to the hands of extremists. They will claim you are not muslim enough after they have wiped off every non Muslims.

20 hostages killed. Mix of locals and foreigners, think more locals died. 1-2 police officers died too.

The local media is only reporting deaths of 5-6 perpetrators

The problem, if there was ever any doubt, is utter and absolute lawlessness. While the attacks on non-Muslims and bloggers have caught the eyes of global media; fact is we have are living in a murderous reign for some years now.

Bangladesh has a good secular population which is why there are people getting killed for arguing for LGBT rights and Religious and human rights. The problem is the governments have not been able to protect them. why is a small country like Bangladesh difficult to rule? , ok i know that the population density is the largest in the world and brings alot of problems but there should not be this much trouble managing this small nation.
I thought under Awami Party rule Bangladesh showed progress in the last decade. I cant believe there are still a part of nation supporting Pakistan and 1971 genocide leaders. I dont know much about Bagladesh but it does look like fight of two ideologies ,Islamization of Bangladesh vs Secular Democratic Bangladesh.
Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
Bangladesh is fucked
My sister called me really early hysterical and incoherent. Had to call my grandmother to figure out why.One of the people killed, Abinta Kabir, was one of my sisters best friends at school and someone I had personally spoke about football with. Absolute shitshow that country is and needs to be sorted out.
Second bangladeshi I have personally known and considered a friend to be killed there in the past year. My old coworker Avijit was killed there Last year.
I'd had enough with Islamic fundamentalism. She was a muslim herself she didnt deserve to die like that especially from people who call themselves following her faith.
If Bangladesh can't handle this we will. Absolutely disgusted right now.

Damn. That's truly sad to hear. These atrocities often sound so far away, but when this hits someone one knows, then one realizes how awful this really is.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
A lot of people who died are acquaintances of mine. This is one of the darkest days in the country's history.
The time has come for a proper response. The last time attack of this scale happened 11 years, the perpetrators were caught and given the death penalty within a year and the country was safe from fundamentalism until the war criminals got executed.
We need to fight fire with fire.

@Adit @Betty
Its not like the government is not doing anything tbh. There have been mass arrests of Islamists these past few months and a lot of them were given the death penalty. We are not a rich country and its not like we allocate a lot of funds to our defense budget.
Really proud how our commandoes managed to save 13 hostages.

Bullets kill people not ideas. Besides how many people can we kill? This mofos are brainwashed as hell, they don't care about death. I know how brutal it is to watch our loved ones getting murdered by these animals but we have to keep our heads calm and try to find out the sustainable options to fight them.
