Naw. Can't be only religion. I remind you of the Hitler regime. There must be something fundamentally wrong with at least parts of "human"ity.

Humans are inherently evil. Religion, Politics etc are just enablers.

Huge numbers, packed into a small space it would be perfect in their disgusting minds. Or maybe they have and intelligence services do a better job than given credit for.
You only hear about intelligence services when they fail... the failure rate is far less than 1%. So you can imagine how many things happen that you never hear about.
Yeah that's true.

Frankly, sometimes I really wish for a big asteroid the size of the Dino killer to say hello again. Although whatever would develop afterwards, possibly won't be any better either.

Really don't buy this.
There's way too much good being done every day for this to be true. It's just overshadowed by everything else.
Humans have an easy time following orders, which can be a problem when there's 1 bad apple out of a 1000 or more.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
They are brainwashed, you have to look at it from their perspective even if its difficult. There are brainwashed people everywhere, except that in the middle east, there are resources that allow them to rise to power. They are told by their leaders that the western world is filled with terrorists and to kill innocent people is to send a message and they also use the excuses of religion and politics to drive these people. How do I know this? Those scums have twitter accounts and threaten people many times.

As ever so often, I'm reminded of this nice bumper sticker I had a while ago:
"Beam me up, Scotty, there's no intelligent life on this planet."
I really have to get a new one for my current car...

i too dont buy it. Humans are mostly good, because most people dont look for conflicts and stay away from trouble. there are a few that are different and look to control others. Religion is one way they can achieve that, politic is another.

I wouldn't say evil, just that as a whole we're all capable of doing bad things to satisfy our egos. Struggles for power, dominance, & survival are at the core of pretty much every living organism on this planet. We always get at each other for whatever reason.

Yeah, I don't think humans are inherently evil but I also get the point that RG was making.

Let's leave that debate for a different topic.
No news of hostages yet. And no confirmed death toll either. Should be clear anytime now

A teacher of mine used to say 'we are the product of the environment around us'. I feel like that applies well with where these ppl come from.
The real question is, how do we tackle this? What is the solution? Is there even a way to eliminate/stop these ppl from doing such stuff, without risking civilians?

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
We can tackle this by providing these people with an alternate point of view, after all humans do have the ability to choose. The problem is that these people are only provided with one point of view and that is that the western world is filled with bad guys.

I think , now, to Ronald Reegan who wants to satisfy his sheriff attitude and so as to destroy an agonizing - dying USSR arms and finances for years the ancestors of Al Qaeida ...
Basically everything comes from there.
Then we had the Talibans , 11 September and other wicked "export of democracy" made by Bush and everything degenerated completely. ..

War is the only solution to dismantle the main threat (Talkin' about Isis). I doubt either party will consider peaceful coexistence at this point. Civilians can only do their best to get out of the way.
