I have a tradition of hosting a FIFA tournament together with friends and colleagues, and that's pretty much the main reason why I've stuck to the FIFA franchise for so long. PES has always seemed like the more innovative and consumer friendly series, to me.

They do have a tendency to occasionally move closer to FIFA's type of gameplay, though. It's a bit similar to the Battlefield and CoD rivalry, where Battlefield were known for more of a focus on realism and vast, more interactive and open maps. Then, at some point, they decided to stray  away from what seperated them from CoD by making their maps smaller and gameplay more fast-paced. I've never understood why they do this. PES and Battlefield should both focus on realism, in my opinion. CoD and FIFA don't seem capable or willing to compete in that regard.

Finished PES 2019 with 92% win percentage on myclub, top 20 in the world Haven't played since December or January though, gameplay became really bad online, couldn't be bothered.

Will check out 2020 though.

Also Manchester United is licenced now, and there will be one more club, maybe Juventus.

Signing these exclusive deals is stupid, definitely in this case since more people in the world play Fifa. Anyway, why would you do exclusive and exclude yourself from the fanbase of the other football game? Probably money, but how much...

Especially can't understand this since 90% of Fifa players are silly CR fanboys who would spend a lot of time producing cocksplats while selwcting Juve.

Editing PES is really easy though, you have a fully licenced game within 5 minutes on PC or PS4, don't know about Fifa.

Yes agreed in all, i don't see the point of those exclusive licenses, especially if you sign it with PES. We certainly don't gain exposure with that move, not that i care but the club cares.

I think license is a false problem in 2019 tbh , I mean, I've always played against Juventus (and not their fake name) on PES because it's enough to install a patch who offers you squads / CL licenses missed  on that original PES.
Anyway welcome on PES bandwagon , by far the best football game , it's an excuse for buying it and you won't regret this.

Agreed. Far better game than FIFA even though FIFA has been growing on me recently but that may have more to do with me being exhausted from PES than FIFA's merit.

Half the gaming community gave up after DP3.

It turned to absolute crap, scripting became too apparent and just too many things went wrong. Online gameplay was affected the most.

I don't play online. I thought offline actually improved after DP3. Prior to that CPU was just too predictable.

I don't really know, don't play against CPU, though I remember early that CPU just went for low crosses and they always scored a goal or two, at least on legend dificulty.

Exactly. The low crosses were toned down. Still pretty easy to play against CPU though, I'm hoping they have upped the AI (both team mate and opponent) for 2020.

Played two games last night v CPU, same as ever TBH.

Wide player does a 1-2 pass with another player, low cross, goal.

Only difference is sometimes it's a high cross.
