Ospina slowly turning to Richard Wright, bought with great expectation, played ok and about to be sold after just one year with less than 20 games. Wenger hardly sells his players that quick unless he see them as completely useless ( hello Jeffers, Park)

Don't think Wenger sees him as useless, he has to decide between Szczesny/Ospina who to sell and make space for Cech, and he has invested so much on Szczesny to let him go now. The decision seems natural.

The Mail have blown their load too early, it seems:

Cech's agent agency have also said that nothing has been agreed yet, nor will it be later today or tomorrow.

Wording here makes it sound like it's only a matter of time.

You can never predict an Arsenal transfer announcement. I think they enjoy watching everybody be all bounce

while they take their sweet time making things official.

But all going well we can cross goalkeeper off our list of needs and start complaining about DMs and strikers again.

why is everyone so hype for this? cech is past it, and ospina didnt cost us that much last season, cech wont make much of a difference if we dont sign other players in more important positions.

Because Cech is still one of the best GK in the world and better than both our current GK's. And he has shown no sign of decline so he's got some years in him left still.

Of course we must sign other players too but we can enjoy this one if it happens.

Ospina is exactly like Almunia.

That's stretching it. He's not much worse than Szczesny.

Szczesny at least has great potential in him. His problem has always been in the head.

Almunia despite all the dislike was quite solid at times while making catastrophic blunders the other. Ospina has shown exactly that.

Bit disappointed that Orstein didn't say anything else about the transfers. I know he says what he has been fed but something like "still looking for a mid/st" would have been decent

Arsenal are in advanced talks with Wellington Silva over a new deal at the Emirates Stadium, according to ESPN.

Wellington joined the Gunners in 2011 but is yet to make his debut for the club having failed to obtain a work permit until April.

The 22-year-old winger has had loan stints at Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina, Murica and Almeria.

And Arsene Wenger is hoping to tie him down to a new long-term deal now he can finally play for Arsenal.

Cech seems like one of those keepers that could play until he's 45 and not lose a level at all. Even at the price quoted it's a fantastic piece of business.

Cech would be a great signing , but over this .. Arsenal isn't looking for defenders too ? for me it's necessary to sign a defender , imo Wenger should go on Abdennour

We're well covered in defence, what we need after Cech is a defensive midfielder and a striker.

Between Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny, Gabriel and Calum Chambers we have good cover in that department, two fullbacks in each position and all of the aforementioned can slot fill in for each other.

Adding a world class keeper behind them will only make them better. Coquelin and/or a new DM as well makes for great protection.
