oh Thimmy you're very lenient with your assessments. To me the guy sounds like a severely obsessed individual whose brain seems to be having a hard time differentiating between reality and fantasy.

Re: Mateu Lahoz, Real Madrid referee
More developement, Lahoz showed yellow, and then straight red card for Alba. Yet he wrote in ref report two yellows from dissent, and didn't specify what the dissent was, because he couldn't write what Alba said, which was noway even yellow worthy.
Hopefully club files a complaint, appeals it when Perez/Villar cartel (RFEF) returns it, and finally sends it to FIFA when they return it again.

Re: Mateu Lahoz, Real Madrid referee
The Argentine asked for an explanation from the match referee, who ended up almost agreeing with him.
This was the conversation picked up by 'Cuatro' TV's cameras:
"You're probably right Leo. However, protesting every decision I make really p***** me off. Do me a favour. You know it makes me nervous", the international referee told the Argentine when explaining Jordi Alba's second-half sending off.

It feels like he's losing it. He needs to come worth and blow the whistle on the corruption on Perez/Villar and the recruiting method of RFEF, only that will make his conscience clean.BarrileteCosmico wrote:

Re: Mateu Lahoz, Real Madrid referee
sounds like the perfect plot for a suspenseful thriller movie in the making.
harmonica should get on it and write a screenplay.
half of the movie could consist of gifs and youtube vids, as a voiceover we could get Michael Caine to read harmonica's posts aloud

cast:
Michael Kelly as Mateu Lahoz
Christian Bale as Cristiano Ronaldo
Peter Dinklage as Lionel Messi
shame Sydney Pollack is dead, he'd be perfect as Florentino Perez

Jornada 3 ATM - BAR

No penaldos here.
Why aren't FIFA already on this lowlife? Never seen such on your face corruption. Is it because it's so funny, it's fine?

Re: Mateu Lahoz, Real Madrid referee
Just remembered that Lahoz was also refereeing last league game Barcelona - Atletico on 13-14, in which Barca lost the La Liga title with onside Messi goal wrongfully disallowed as offside.

Re: Mateu Lahoz, Real Madrid referee
I think you can see why none of those were given. None of those hand balls were intentional.
The 3rd one though should have been given, it wasnt intentional but you just cant make those motions with your arm.

Agreed, intention is a big part of this. Intention is hard to prove though, so there's usually the big decider is if the arm moves in an unnatural way before the ball hits the arm. It only does in the last one.
Hasn't there also been a change in penalties in Spain to really focus on this intentionality aspect?

You're right. The 3rd one should've been given, but it looked like a situation that may have been hard for the referee to spot. In the past, I've complained about Lahoz' decisions going against Madrid, and C. Ronaldo in particular, but I predict that Harmonica will claim that he only made those decisions to disguise the fact that he's secretly biased towards Real Madrid Anyway, I'm quite certain by now, that Harmonica won't listen to any logical arguments as long as they don't favour Messi, so I'm basically just telling you that I agree.

Re: Mateu Lahoz, Real Madrid referee
That would be fine if it was the same for everyone, but it isn't, and that's the problem.
Last season:
Round 15
Barcelona doesn't get penalty from a obvious handball (at 0-0)
Round 17
Real Madrid gets penalty from close handball (at 0-0)
Barcelona doesn't get penalty from a much more obvious handball (at 1-0 behind)
Round 20
Real Madrid gets penalty from a handball (at 1-1 90min)

Re: Mateu Lahoz, Real Madrid referee
If the third one is a penalty for the reason given (I tend to agree), Mascherano's is a penalty too.
Which would lead us back to the point. harmonica's constant corruption cries are laughable, but most of all DISINGENUOUS.

Re: Mateu Lahoz, Real Madrid referee
This thread is a bit misleading. "The Real Madrid referee" implies that not all referees in Spain are Real Madrid referees. Which isn't the case.
