CL QF: Porto - FC Bayern
Our team has already left to Porto today. Schweini and Ribéry didn't travel as we had hoped.
Schweinsteiger, Ribéry out for at least the first leg
Robben out for another 3-4 weeks
Alaba out until more or less end of season
Benatia out 4-6 weeks
Martinez still out after his knee was totalled, will maybe return to training in a couple of weeks.
Thiago and Lahm back for merely 2 weeks after being out one year respectively 4 months.
Without those players we are not that special I have to say, and you could see that in reccent games, which were not good.
So farfan can roll his eyes all he wants, but I am in fact worried lol.

Re: CL QF: Porto - FC Bayern
Surely Bayern cannot have a dominant performance with so many injuries?
I can still see them winning, or at least getting a favourable result...but surely not a convincing display? Everyone else who wants to win this competition would better hope not.
Saw Bayern vs Dortmund in their 1 nil win, and I saw them the game after that (I forget who it was against) and it wasnt impressive (understandably) and Porto have a couple of players who can give real problems, such as Brahimi, Jackson depending on his fitness and Herrera.
As inspiring as Quaresma can be at times , this is surely not the game for him to start. Nor, the one dimensional Tello (injured anyway I think).

Re: CL QF: Porto - FC Bayern
Those absences are really bad.
Robben and Ribéry is self-explanatory, since we have no replacement for them at all;
Schweinsteiger's anewed absence is very bad since Alonso has been completely stinking since 2015, Alaba's absence is almost much a disaster as Robben's.
Lahm has been nowhere near good form since returning (only played 2 games).
Thiago has been out for a year and although his return is providing some genuine hope and excitement we can't expect any kind of consistency on top level after that time, besides by now I'm most of all fearing a new injury every minute he's on the pitch.
Benatia has been missing a lot since he joined, which is a pity as he's been really, really good at challenges and a no nosense kind of defender which complements our defense well.
Despite all the frankly hilariously absurd praise Pep got for the Dortmund win, it was a performance I'd rather not see again.
It was a good win, no doubt, but I'd rather see us not parking the bus defending a narrow 1:0 lead with claws.
Leverkusen was a slightly better performance by us imo (especially the longer the game went on), because they are a really, really tough team nowadays.
But still we are nowhere near the level of dominance we are used to have when a decent part of our top players can actually play.

Re: CL QF: Porto - FC Bayern
Well, I'm curious how Bayern will play in Porto, especially as Pep has tried out some alternative plans recently to cope with all the injuries.

Porto won't lose at home. Specially not against Bayern without Robben.
Porto have all the weapons which Bayern are weak against. They are counter attack specialists with great defensive organisation without the ball. I can see them winning this.

Re: CL QF: Porto - FC Bayern
Think current Porto are better than Dortmund IMO. But then they have a fully fit team with everyone on form(think Porto have no conceded at home in like 10 games or something?)
Despite what Haps is thinking, I am being serious here. Porto will make it a very difficult game for Bayern and can actually win this.

Win the first leg, maybe, I can't see then winning the tie though. Bayern still have a better squad and once Thiago and Lahm get into form they should comfortably win the second leg and go through.
It is a much tighter tie then we first thought though, it'll be interesting to watch.

Come on guys, Pep didnt park the bus
Bayern didnt even want to defend, it wasnt a plan..they were simply forced back by Dortmund. It was a good effort by them.

I thought the same too at first when I saw the highlights and then when I watched the game and saw Pep expression throughout the match I knew that wasn't the plan lol Even after the game he said it wasn't the way he'd wanted the team to play or something.
Anyways I'd be more worried about the tired legs in Bayern then the injuries, atm Lewandowski, Götze (for you hans ), and Müller are carrying the attack and must be tired as they barely got any rest in the last 2-3 games. Lahm isn't on top form right now, Alonso also isn't getting younger and will probably do something reckless and Thiago is still finding his grove didn't watch the weekends game so don't know how he did.

Thiago was really good in that game, well considering the length of time he was out.

I really hope Porto win. I'm hoping for the Monaco Porto cl rematch. It would be the most anticipated cl final in the histories.

Quaresma finally lives up to his potential. Better than Ronaldo indeed.
