Who wouldn't Laughing Would probably need a few more directors to poke fun at. Could be a great idea for a spoof. Since that genre is more or less gone (at least what quality is concerned).

Typical Guillermo Del Torro piece it looks like. Hope this will be more like the masterpiece Pan's Labyrinth than some of his recent flicks.
That cast though !!

He said it was in his top 3 favourite of his own films, and his first English language film he didn't have to please someone with fitting the content into a specific rating. First European styled English language film from him.

Guess his top 3 is This, Pan's and Devil's Backbone then.

Not a fan of the Joy trailer.

Think Jennifer Lawrence is good but probably the most overrated actress in Hollywood today. Will watch for Cooper and De Niro though. Cooper and De Niro was the best things about SLP and American Hustle (didn't like the film at all, but they were great).

Disagree on Silver Linings Playbook. J Law was amazing on that movie. The best actor of it.

Agreed with M99, but i will say that thats the only movie where JLaw was MOTM imo, i didn't enjoy any other movie she starred in for some reason

She's just really annoying as a person in interviews imho. Also don't like her at all in Hunger Games. She was good in Winter's Bone, but John Hawkes delivered a GOAT tiny performance that stole the show in that.

Not that big of a fan. She's good, but not 3 oscar nom at 24 good. Like Margot Robbie, Shailene Woodley, Brie Larson, Juno Temple, Elizabeth Olsen more in that age range.

Kudos to her for banking on her huge fandom and marketablity. She's just so beloved by the academy and the average movie-goer. Some people I've read call her the best in the business etc. pains me.

Jennifer Lawrence was good in Winter's Bone, even if I didn't like the movie that much.
Cooper and she were equally brilliant in SLP, and I liked her way more in American Hustle than Cooper.

Very much loved SLP, am one of the few that also like American Hustle it seems. And while the trailer doesn't look that good, I have hope that Joy will also be good.

Would like to see O. Russell work with other actors though after this. I am a fan of his. I think he is one of the directors living today that creates characters with very good emotional-depth.

A director I don't like though, is Del Torro. While Pan's Labyrinth was good, I didn't like it as much as most did.

Gotta love Jennifer Lawrence keep getting cast in roles suited for 30+ year old actresses though. O. Russell is a confirmed perv, so expect him to replace her when she turns 25 Laughing

Really liked her in Hustle? I thought she was absolutely horrible, overplayed so much it hurt. Role didn't fit her one bit at all, 22 year old in that role looked wrong, would've wanted a 30 year old in a role like that.

Think that little ounce of overdramaticness was just about right and fitting for her character.

It didn't fit at all with me. It didn't look like the overdramatic acting that fit the character, all I could see was Jennifer Lawrence turning it up to 11 and just look like she's acting throughout all her scenes. Didn't feel natural, and took me out of the movie every time.

It looked like if Sam Worthington had to play Daniel Plainview to me.

Fair enough.

I however, think she is really talented. Won't deny that she has become an eternal darling with the Academy, but you shouldn't use that against her.

Outside of acting, she's a likeable person imo. Most people I know (except my aunt who I sometimes watch E! news with Laughing ) like her.

I bet you she'll prove you wrong over the next 10 years or so.

I don't think Freeza is denying that she's talented, he's saying she's a bit overrated today and is getting roles that would really be best suited for someone older (and I agree).

She's 24 years old ffs.

I said she's good hmm she's just not the best out there. Everything about her interviews feel forced. Hope she becomes more natural when she gets older. If you want to talk about a likeable person, Emma Stone is up there, she's not beautiful or anything, but damn is she amazingly likeable. Also a better actress in that age-range.

Thanks for basically writing what I was trying to say in a really condensed way Proud Laughing

EDIT: also watched Testament of Youth today. Alicia Vikander is just a ridiculous powerhouse. She'll get some kind of Academy Award nomination this year. My favourite under 30 actress right now I must say. Learned to speak Danish right in 2 months, got a British accent in a lot of films. Extraordinary talent. Also Mrs. Fassbender at the moment. Got everything going for her.

Yep, one thing i like about Stone is that she's incredibly versatile, she can play a multitude of roles (Basically the Benzema of actresses). While, i feel JLaw still is a bit..i don't want to say limited, but constricted? I just feel like what i'm gonna get when i enter a movie that has JLaw in it
