I followed the spoilers until people started posting videos and that kind of turned me off the whole things. It's different hearing about a possible path the show may take than seeing it visually as they film it.

And yeah agreed with BC about video spoilers, that's taking it too far. I mean the whole Tower of Joy scene is spoiled in one of those videos Laughing

Seems like they took a detour last season by adding filler in hope GRRM writes the 6th book. Because however good D&D are, they can't really make up their own script for season 6. And GRRM can't spend time at the set helping them either since he has a book to finish by Feb/March

Think it will go for 8 seasons now. I don't think ADOS is going to be the last book imo

So if we're hoping for a March 2016 release and they need 3 months to do the propper editing/marketing this means the announcement has to come before year's end, right? Otherwise it's not beating the show. And yet we've been hearing very little news.... not encouraging.

Martin said just recently in his Not A Blog, that he is not done writing TWOW.

Such a shame, a pre-S6 release would be not only great for the fans but marketing-wise aswell.

We can start panicing after Martin makes no announcement in December.

Also on the Blackfish returning,

"Are you blind as well as maimed Ser? Can you not see the direwolf banner still hanging in our walls?"

Up to AFFC now. Jaime is so GOAT. He's got so many great chapters that don't really get played out in the TV series. The Kingsguard have more character as well. In the TV series, its Jaime, Meryn Trant and then a bunch of jobbers.

Only disappointing storylines I've found so far is Brienne trying to find Sansa and anything involving Bran.

AFFC is the worst book of the series. By far. I almost stopped reading there.

Will always recommend to people they read the combined read as opposed to AFFC and then ADWD. It makes both books way more enjoyable.

Also every time this thread is bumped I get my hopes up. It's going to be like this for the next 6 months. Just release the thing already GRRM.

The series gradually got worse after ASOS. AFFC > ADWD for me aswell but only because ADwD is so bad.

Just thinking about all the cliffhangers, main characters having awful arcs (apart from the Northern arc which was awesome). Tyrion being a depressing shithead conversating with scrub characters. Daenerys sitting on her ass dealing with Ahssjxncnak zo Ahahdbana, Quentyn travellig somewhere, Victarion travelling somewhere, Jon Con travelling somewhere. Pfff.

Lord too fat to sit a horse Proud

Brandon Stark, Brynden 'Bloodraven' Rivers (Max von Sydow!), Rickon Stark, Smalljon Umber, Wyman Manderly, Howland Reed, Walder Frey, Brynden 'Blackfish' Tully, Edmure Tully, Septon Meribald (Ian McShane!) Sandor Clegane (GET HYPE!), Euron/Balon Greyjoy, Randyll Tarly, Archmaester Marwyn, Khal Jhaqo.

So many awesome characters being introduced/returning in S6

The only major storyline confirmed missing from the books are the Griffs and their allies/friends. Can't even say Lady Stoeheart is confirmed missing with some filming news hints.

Ian McShane provides intriguing hint about his Game of Thrones role

“I’ll give you one hint,” McShane told Pop Goes The News. “I am responsible for bringing somebody back that you think you’re never going to see again. I’ll leave it at that.”

He also says of his role, “[It’s] a one-off episode.”
