Prime Villa vs Suarez

Who would you rather have leading your team's frontline? Do you prefer the clinical and clutch villa or the tricky and relentless suarez?

I'd take prime villa.. the guy was a beast, two footed beast who was a bit more versatile
suarez trumps him in work rate but that's not everything.

I think I would pick villa as well. He was pretty versatile and was capable of creating chances on his own at times. He's wasn't one of those strikers that was completely dependent on service. Also, his shots from outside the box were beautiful! I love suarez as well but villa was something else.

Winning mentality = never giving up, always giving 100%, asking others to do the same, holding the game by scruff of the neck...never shying from the challenge, rising to the occasion.

I don't know, I saw Suarez score some of the best free kicks i've ever seen at Liverpool for 4 years. He was also a fantastic header of the ball for someone not that tall

Tough choice actually. It's like the Raul/Villa comparison. I'd say Suarez is more complete than Villa, unfortunately.

Suarez does not need any sort of help from any other player to flip a game on its head. He could do it solo style. Villa needed to be fed to be as effective as he was. And his prime at Valencia he had Mata and Silva doing just that. Villa is amazing but the fact that he needs to be fed, makes me put Suarez ahead of him.

Villa for now. Will come back and might revisit my opinion after 1 or 2 seasons of watching Suarez for Barca but I think many people have already forgotten what an insane striker prime Villa was. I remember wanting him badly even when we had Eto'o. Unfortunately prime Villa dates back even before his Barca time when he played on the wing and Pep made him track back all the way back into his own box in a system that was extremely geared towards possession and self-inflicted limitation of space in the final third. But most people only remember him for his Barca time so it's forgotten.

I'd take prime Villa, too. If Suarez can replicate his 13/14 form at Barca consistantly, I'd choose him.

Yeah, I don't understand this whole thing that Villa needed to be fed, he was capable of creating things for himself. However its a difficult decision to make. Both are great, but I'm going to wait till Suarez hangs up his boot to decide.

Prime Villa was the perfect striker lol and this being fed stuff is nonsense.

You all need to remind yourselves of how great he was, the winning mentality stuff is crap too considering how many big match winners Villa had and how many trophies he won.

Suarez would just run next to the defender with the defender having possession and the defender would shit his pants from his presence and 2 seconds later Suarez has a goal.

He's better dribbler goes without saying but saying Villa needs to be fed is like saying Van Persie needed to be fed it's really not the case.(he does now but that's because he's old and crap)

If u say suarez is more creative and more of a hard worker, i'd understand u, but saying that villa needs to be 'fed'? Lol, what does that even mean? By that logic, suarez is better than cr7 too? I've seen suarez being fed a million times & that doesnt change anything.
Aside creativity (which includes dribbling) and hardwork, villa pretty much trumps suarez in anything else. Its also worth notin that villa is a far superior finisher and wonder what suarez would have done in that strict tiki-taka system (not this modified counter-taka one).

Another thing is that most people tend to forget what other players achieved and focus more on the player of the present which plays a big role in their choices.
