Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
The thing that doesn't make sense about Ntep is that we supposedly put Memphis talks on hold because we were looking for a striker. The only reason I thought Memphis was fine to come to Liverpool was because he brought the goal threat and can also play striker. Ntep is more of a traditional winger supposedly. If he is a Memphis backup he isn't a very similar type of player, and either it doesn't make a lot of sense because we have guys like Markovic, Ibe, Sterling, etc. or maybe someone is leaving (Sterling?)
Anyway my buddy who is a L1 expert thinks Ntep is one of the best wingers out there for his age and really rates him (says he is a better player than Origi in every aspect) so I wouldn't be upset about it.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
For those that are actually interested in what he had to say about Ntep, I just asked what he was like and if he had elite potential.
Take it for what you will but he's very reliable for anything L1.
Just watching some of his highlights he seems like a lot of fun.
Extremely quick, great dribbler, extremely powerful on his legs.
Can score some beauty too, but he's first and foremost a classic winger that will drive defensemen crazy.
One of the MVPs of the first half in L1.
Still young.
He can have a temper too.
Still easily the best player on his team and of the best forwards in Ligue 1.
That does look completely like a Plan B, but you know what?
He'll be extremely less expensive and might not be too much of a downgrade.
I'm surprised PSG hasn't signed Ntep to be honest. Completely fits a need, young, not too expensive (15M max?), speaks french, country grown for the CL, would have zero problem adapting to world class players, etc...
He's IMO a better player then Origi in every aspect.
And when I say he's not a scorer, he'll bag you around 10 goals a season. He has a great curved shot when he gets inside (he's a right footed LW).
Take it for what you will but he's very reliable for anything L1.

Who's this Ntep dude ?
I just youtube him , and he looks like a clown of a footballer.

I'm astounded to be perfectly honest.

I watch Eredivisie, Liverpool and Continental stuff (Europa/CL) mostly...Catch games/highlights here and there when I have time (full games are available out there in places).
I mean if you think about all the time that most people spend watching sitcoms, movies, playing video games, etc. and replace that with watching football it's not so hard to imagine watching a lot more football than I do.

I used to watch a lot a few years ago. and by that, I mean at least 6 PL game every week. 10 years ago, I had a satellite that had everything live. I used to watch Bundesliga 3 games week, Serie A 2 games a week, PL 3 games a week and La Liga 2 games a week not to mention continental stuff. but then, I was 14 back then with zero responsibilities
Now, I don't even have a cable TV. So it's just Liverpool games at the pub if I'm not working......and crucial deciders in PL streaming.
the CL semis were the first CL games I watched this season outside of Basel-Liverpool and Ludogorets-Liverpool. I missed all our other matches due to work.
Amazingly, the tournament I watch the most is Europa League. I even watch early rounds in July when Kazakhstan 3rd team plays Iceland's 4th team. and of course Euro qualifiers, because I love international footy when smaller team play.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I'm pretty lucky with my job hours, and streaming availability. I'm an Eredivisie streaming subscriber and LFC TV holder so I can watch those any time (I try to catch Liverpool games live but otherwise most of my viewing is HD streaming). I'm pretty busy in general but I only sleep usually 3 - 4 hours a night so I make the most of my time, and I don't watch TV (I have a wife and daughter, play soccer, hockey and softball at different times and go to the gym fairly regularly, but again it's all about time management).

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I don't get why people are comparing Elia and Babel to Memphis...they are not even remotely similar.
I mean for starters over the last two seasons Memphis scored as many goals as Babel and Elia did combined over their entire Eredivisie careers before Babel went back to Ajax (41 goals in 81 apps for Memphis, 41 goals in 233 apps for Babel + Elia). But his approach, abilities and physical profile are nothing like those two.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Well Depay isn't the biggest loss of the century we obviously have had worse.
However, doesn't bode well for the beginning of the window and makes us feel nothing has changed within the club to improve on transfer negotiations

So the Benteke rumors are picking up.
So where will he end up next season? ManU? Spurs? Arsenal? Chelsea . . . . I'm just confused

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Meh. Still didn't see the point in signing Depay for 20m+ when we literally just bought Markovic a year ago. ANd have Ibe / Sterling on top of that in the same age bracket, where Ibe / Sterling have a similar ceiling.
But honestly if anything this just showed we're still idiots in the market.
>We need proven players in the final third. Try to steal "the next big thing" for the future.
>Lose out on a player AGAIN. (Granted from all reports he always wanted to United but why did we stall on Depay waiting to sign a striker first if we knew our rivals wanted him...?)
Gone be another long year in the summer. And even longer in the season with Rodgers.

We won't sign him unless Remy leaves, which I doubt he will.

Look up Ntep on FM. There's your answer.
But yeah Ntep is world class. As is Origi.
With Ntep, Origi and Markovic next season we're going to be a world class in 2 years time and they gel and become s world class team with world class players and world class potential. Trust me.

Last summer Inter rejected 20m€ from Barcelona for Kovacic. Inter value Kovacic not less than 30m€ (Tancredi)

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Benteke is destined for a move to a bigger club, just like Bony was. Whether it's this summer or not, I don't know. The stupidest thing he could do is go to Chelsea, though, unless he thinks he can bench Costa (which wouldn't be impossible, imo, but unlikely). I wouldn't mind Benteke, although our problem in the final third is larger than just who plays striker. He would cost a fortune, too.
I had almost forgot about Origi, lulz. We probably shouldn't sign a wide forward if / since he's coming. So, maybe it's not too bad we missed out on Depay, then...
