I respectfully disagree there. He would have had to bench Hyypia, Carra, Agger, or even Skrtel. He's inferior to all 4 as a footballer and as a defender.

Re: Liverpool vs. West Ham United
Come on mate, you know that he is very, very, very poor. You just can't criticize our player/manager.El Cujo wrote:I think you guys need to cool it with the Lovren hate. Weren't you just calling Rodgers a fraud not even a month ago? Give it a rest. He's barely featured for us. If we were going to go with knee-jerk reactions we'd have gotten rid of guys like Coutinho, Henderson, Lucas, Sakho and Moreno all of whom have been fantastic for us. Defenders, especially with the philosophy that Rodgers likes to follow, probably will have the hardest time adjusting here.
Anyway, need the 3 points.
He played almost constantly for the first three months.

Re: Liverpool vs. West Ham United
Again, he has played a grand total of what 20 games for us and only 17 as a starter? I don't need to bring up how people felt about the likes of Henderson, Sakho or even Moreno or Markovic after their earliest appearances. James is just knee-jerking as always on this issue. I mean, when Lucas was in poor form people wanted him gone. Coutinho had a really bad run of form (worse than Lovren) to start the season. Lovren hasn't even only had bad games either and the team was playing the worst football it has in the last 5 years when he was introduced to the team. I don't really see how that is a fair shake at all.

Re: Liverpool vs. West Ham United
Coutinnho did NOT have worse run of form than Lovren bruv. Not even close. Lovren's form has been the absolute lowest point of form in history of football.

Re: Liverpool vs. West Ham United
Lovren's inferior to Kolo f***** Toure. How people can STILL defend him is absurd.
And I don't even rate Kolo Toure and I was saying this BEFORE he signed. I was told to "wait" and see how he does for us. And now you want me to wait for more?
He's not good. Accept it.

I'm with you on Markovic.
Decent talent, yes. But way overhyped.
20m on a player on the same wavelength as Ibe is just stupid. I'm still in the belief Ibe is better/has the higher ceiling but you can argue Markovic is better. Choice of preference out of the two, really.

Re: Liverpool vs. West Ham United
Coutinho is one of my favourite players in the world and I'm constantly talking him up, but he was definitely worse than Lovren to start the season. He was our worst player, without question, over the first 15 or so games he played.
But anyway, it is what it is. Some of you turn faster than leaves in the wind. Fairweather maybe? IDK
I don't really see how anyone can argue Ibe is as good as Markovic at this point. Anyone that has actually watched the two can see that Markovic is better than Ibe right now. Higher ceiling is debatable.

Re: Liverpool vs. West Ham United
You guys are underrating Markovic for sure. It's a disservice to him to compare him to a 19 year old kid whose highest level of experience in football is Championship where he was a bench player coming in the last 30 minutes.
I like Ibe a lot and think he has great potential but similarly I think Markovic is even more talented being a similar age to Ibe and doing much more already.

Re: Liverpool vs. West Ham United
No one was worse than Lovren at the start of the season.
Coutinho struggled with consistency because there was no movement in the final third and had it all to do by himself so wasn't playing his best football.
Lovren was just shit. lmao
And how are we underrating Markovic? You're basing all his hype on a months worth of football. Are you going to tell me you watched him consistently sit on the bench at Benfica?
If anything you're underrating Ibe. Wasn't it you a couple of years ago that preferred Ibe over Sterling?

Leaked team:
Mignolet – Emre Can, Škrtel, Sakho – Marković, Henderson, Lucas, Moreno – Lallana, Coutinho – Sterling
Sturridge will be on the bench.

Re: Liverpool vs. West Ham United
Lallana for CAM instead of Gerrard should give us fluidity in attack. I'm sure we'll cause them enough problems to score a couple of goals as long as we finish the way we should. Hopefully we'll be up by two goals or more at the 60 minute mark, so could sub Henderson and Coutinho off and give them a bit of a rest. Feeling confident - and there's time for a couple of drinks before kick-off, so should be feeling even more confident by then.

Re: Liverpool vs. West Ham United
Adrian, O'Brien, Collins, Reid, Cresswell, Song, Amalfitano, Nolan, Downing, Carroll, Valencia.
That's a great XI from our point of view. O'Brien isn't a proper full-back and there's no way Nolan should be starting Premier League away games any more. We should have 60%+ possession easily and really make them camp in their own half.

No you were hoping that we will be 2-0 up by 60 minutes so that Cou and Hendo could be resed...I am a little pessimist so I said, I am just hoping for 3-4-3 to at least work somehow to get us 3 points (like 1-0 or something if not a bog score)

Okay, right. Well, I think if we are wearing our finishing boots, we could be comfily up after 60 minutes. That West Ham team have nothing going for them except for long balls and counter attacks. We'll have all the possession.

Both great songs, but YNWA's the best!
