Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Roberto Firmino was one of the best Hoffenheim players. Rumours have it that he is already about to sign a contract with some top club somewhere.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Yann Sommer set a new Bundesliga record for fewest goals ever conceded in a BL Rückrunde. While Manuel Neuer only conceded a record 7 goals in the Hinrunde, Yann Sommer was the best keeper in the Rückrunde with only 10 goals conceded (three of which were totally unnecessary in the last match of the season after Gladbach obviously partied too much since reaching the CL groups from the weekend before XD). Absolute top performance!

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Schalke U19 are Bundesliga champion of the U19 BL in 2014/15 after winning 3:1 against Hoffenheim U19. The 12500 people in the audience are singing "Look, pro players, that's how it is done!"
Schalke U19 coach Norbert Elgert was fast to say "Thanks, but no thanks" on the question whether he wants to take over the job of the senior team XD

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
By the way, here's the final table of the Bundesliga Season 2014/15:
CL group stage:
- Bayern München
- VfL Wolfsburg
- Borussia Mönchengladbach
CL play-offs:
- Bayer 04 Leverkusen (they enter the League path as seeded club)
EL group stage:
- FC Augsburg
If Borussia Dortmund win the DFB-Pokal, Dortmund are qualified for the EL group stage and Schalke 04 get into the 3rd round of the EL qualification. If Dortmund are DFB-Pokal runners-up, Schalke will get into the EL group stage while Dortmund have to go through the EL qualification. Both Schalke and Dortmund would be seeded.

And Schaaf quit Eintracht Frankfurt... This is unbelievably annoying to me. He's a f*cking great coach, even better than Veh, and we should've fought for him.

Well, it looks as if there was quite some dissent behind closed curtains, so it was probably the board who just didn't care enough.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Well yes, that's the point, makes me hate it even more. And that's after we seemed to make the odd good signing. Damn our board and idiot functionaries, I really wanted Schaaf to stay. Could've provided us with the consistency we've been lacking.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Schaaf to Schalke? That would sound like finally a good move, but then Schalke will manage to sack him after a year anyway.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
While I like Slomka, I really wanted Schaaf. Love his style. From his personal style, to his style in coaching. Sure, I think he focuses too much on offense overall, but who cares. It's not like we'd ever play UCL anyway. I hate sacking managers that are obviously trying to build something. He could do wonders at Schalke (would completely destroy their defense, probably, but it's already pretty shit as is) - but would never get the time.
If you gave Schaaf a decent environment and 4 or 5 seasons time, your team will be permanently lodged into the top third of the table. At a club like Schalke, I'm confident he'd be a UCL regular.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Well, Schalke are too volatile, I fear. The average coach lasts for about 8 months there. And if Schaaf already sulked because he felt he didn't get proper backing by the Eintracht board, I don't want to imagine what he would think about CT and HH.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Considering the way both teams played, this was pretty lucky, and borderline-undeserved by the HSV, but, all in all, I'd rather have Hamburg in the first flight than Karlsruhe. Even though Karlsruhe would've meant another first flight stadium within spitting distance, but I already got the superior Darmstadt for that.
So all in all, while I think Hamburg got super lucky, I am pleased.
At least one record bloody Bayern can't get.
Would've loved watching the derbies again if Hamburg had gotten relegated, though.

Watched Tuchel's first press conference and presentation of Tuchel and I liked his enthusiasm. He looks fired up after a long year.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
That would be a great move for Roman Bürki and the BVB. Less cool for Mitch Langerak, though, as IMO Bürki is quite a bit better than him.urbaNRoots wrote:In more positive BVB news, Roman Bürki is close to joining the club according to Kicker

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
They need a new keeper desperately. Langerak doesn't cut it, period. It's no coincidence he was on the bench all that time.
Good for them if they sign Bürki.
Then use part of the Gündogan money to sign Geis.

the league can't do without those fans... and Labbadia slidetacklin' vdV
and if HSV really gets Mehmedi now, that should be a good sign - even though i highly doubt it.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Unfortunately I don't have the current print version of Kicker here, but their annual survey was already published by a couple other news sources, too. They conduct a survey where they ask the current Bundesliga players about their favourite players, coaches etc. These are the results I could find so far:
Best field player:
1. Kevin De Bruyne - 52.5%
2. Arjen Robben - 23.5%
3. Karim Bellarabi - 6.6%
4. Alex Meier - 2.7%
4. Thiago - 2.7%
Best goalkeeper:
1. Manuel Neuer - 26.8%
2. Yann Sommer - 16.9%
3. Roman Bürki - 14.2%
4. René Adler - 10.9%
5. Bernd Leno - 8.2%
6. Timo Horn - 7.1%
Best coach:
1. Lucien Favre - 30.6%
2. Markus Weinzierl - 24.6%
3. Bruno Labbadia - 10.9%
Best referee:
1. Florian Meyer
2. Knut Kircher - 19.3%
3. Manuel Gräfe - 15.9%
Worst coach:
1. Roberto di Matteo - 30.5%
2.
3.
