Our CBs lost this tie by themselves tbh...  Ramos made 3 errors and Pepe 1.  When you concede 4 goals in 2 games against Atleti, you're never going to win.  Stupid mistakes too.

3 of the 4 goals were absolute gifts.

Ramos is rarely misplacing passes. But today he wasn't the main man, Pepe was. Absolute retarded. Let alone the goals, I've never ever seen him leave his zone as much as today, and every time it happened Atletico recovered the ball. Awful, simply awful.

Apart from this, the attitude after Ronaldo's goal was pathetic. In the last 25 minutes only Marcelo and Isco were playing/trying something.

The first half was good, we should have scored 1 more tbh.

You really don't think Ramos was the biggest turd defender out there tonight? Really?? Pepe made one mistake and it cost a goal = unlucky. Ramos made 10 mistakes and it cost a goal = lucky we didn't concede more.

Gotta agree with Sports here, Ramos was a horrorshow. Overall horrible defensive performance... No point in risking those passes.

garbage from the cb's, and i didn't even like our overall play, very luke warm. the only positive from this is we can avoid home and away rigors of copa games to focus on the league and champions

I'd rather my defenders defend, and work on conceding less goals. I could care less if they score headers from crosses to be honest because in the grand scheme of things we have conceded 10x more goals from purely stupid mistakes where either Pepe or Ramos (or both) were culprits, than they have scored from set pieces.

i don't get how leaving kroos alone for majority of the game= a great game by isco, sorry but his positioning for cm is crap always chasing back, on both goal kroos was the only midfielder that can be seen, wonder why we are losing to the better teams without modric , khedira or illarra needs to play 1 natural cm is nonsense

@halamadrid2, i understand your point about james; but i think people haven't criticized james as much cos, first of all, for whatever reason many people fanned out to him joining madrid after watching a couple of world cup games, so such people are still exercising patience in the hope that pays off soon.

Most importantly though, the reason is because; james has not necessarily been great, but he hasn't been crap either. he's just been okay, nothing special and playing like a role player in the line up. bale on the other hand, we know what he is capable of, and no matter how people want to analyze it, (whether he missed 1 million chances or was awful in the clutch games last year) he did score the key goals in our trophy wins last season.....but he's been playing like crap, and has been overtly selfish, which rubs fans the wrong way

james has not played like someone who costs 80 million, not even like someone who costs a third of it, but my perception is that fans appreciate his willingness to work for the team by playing in unfamiliar roles or positions.

with bale on the other hand, the perception i think many fans have is that he's trying to hard to justify his tag, and this is leading to him making a bunch of bonehead decisions, such as attempting to play his 'run and gun' style that saw him make a name for himself at spurs in madrid

my take on it, i see bale coming through as the season progresses, he has the ability, his problem is a mental one, he'll need to improve on his football iq, and one can improve on that as time goes on especially with guys like ronaldo and benzema as his partners up front. james will never play the same role at Columbia, with our personnel, he will always be tasked with carrying on some defensive duties or playing out wide far from his preferred position
