He's only average when compared to the elite strikers in top flight football. He wouldn't start ahead of Costa, Lewandoski, Suarez, Torres, Kun or even Sturridge.

those who rated him highly before this season are a tiny minority .

the first thing i noticed when i joined this site in 2013 was the constant , non stop bashing of Benzema from the majority of the posters .
only Chad and sports defended him vehemently .

so being annoyed by 2 or 3 guys standing up for a player they appreciate in front of massive waves of hate and dismissal is ridiculous to say the least .

And if it is like farfan said that he is one of the most hated/scrutinized players on here, then I'm glad to say that it is clear I'm not the only one who thinks like me.

Let's talk about the champion and king of England here, Harry Kane.

Harry Kane is not a poacher. I don't even see his best position being as a CF but rather playing slightly behind another striker.

Oh I agree, I'm just saying that with his qualities I don't really see his best position as being CF, and in fact he does like to drop into those positions (behind the striker) and sometimes swaps with Chadli in build up play.

Given the personnel and the fact that he's versatile enough to play CF does mean the way you line up is perfect, and I agree.

The problem with EG and others is that they think football is played with an oval ball... they'll come around eventually. Until then, best to say nothing.

As far as Kane, i like the kid. But similar hype was made for similar starts by Papis Cisse, Demba Ba, Michu, etc.... when you're new, nobody knows your play yet so you always have the element of surprise going for you as a player. It's always a lot more telling to see how a player does for a full season once the league has enough information to developing a good scouting report.

I remember the UK media linking us with Cisse, Ba and Michu too Laughing

I love rugby too... although i can't get into club rugby for whatever reason. I watch the 6 nations cup religiously though as well as any NT test match. France suck horribly... but i love to watch any game France or not.

There's something pure about rugby that you don't find in any other sport imo.

I think England is the best team in the world right now btw... better than the all blacks. WC should be a good one later.
