Re: Champions League: Last 16 Draw and Discussion
Monaco, although worthy opponents because they made it this far, are not good enough to beat even the shittiest of Arsenal sides that turn up over two legs imo.
Just look at the number of goals they scored in the group stages in a group which didn't contain any big/strong team. So that says something about them doesn't it? Add to that they're not doing that well in Ligue 1 either, plus we always do good against the French sides - so I truly believe this one will be ours.

Personally hope that Juve trash Dortmund somehow.
Too hyped up team imo. Sick of the love that Gooners on twitter have for Dortmund. I don't even understand where that love comes from.

Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid
Monaco vs Shakhtar Donetsk
Juventus vs Barcelona
Arsenal vs Real Madrid
Bayern Munich vs PSG
FC Porto vs Schalke
Borussia Dortmund vs Basel
Chelsea vs Bayer Leverkusen
Not sure about any restrictions, but this would have been better imo.

It's fascinating how little Basel still are rated despite everything they achieved in the last years.farfan wrote:lol at basel over porto.

it's not a U turn , that was the reality at the time .
Roma still had better chance of making it to the second round after the bayern trashing .

Re: Champions League: Last 16 Draw and Discussion
Juve are solid at the back. And unlike us and other top teams they dont go gung ho attacking so Dortmund wont be able to counter them like they only know how to. Easy win for Juve imo. Not in terms of scoreline because Juve are crap going forward but in terms of performance

Or it was just a case of speaking too early (Also considering Juve just played the two toughest games in their group at the time (ATM(A) and OLY(A))

Re: Champions League: Last 16 Draw and Discussion
Juve will easily beat Dortmund as BVB will be preoccupied and rest players for key relegation battle games.

What the hell,Monaco isnt exactly a straightforward draw. They have conceded only 1 goal in the entire group stage campaign.Best defensive record in the CL goddamit !

not really .
all Roma needed after that bayern trashing was win against a team they already beat 5-1 and get a draw at home against a team they already drew away .
olympiakos looked like a live dog in that group . and even in the final game , juventus losing to atleti and olympiakos winning and going through remained a probable outcome .

Re: Champions League: Last 16 Draw and Discussion
It's a little boring that the two glamour ties of the round were played just last season, PSG v Chelsea and Man City v Barca.
Also Schalke v Real Madrid again. Couple this with the similar group stage draw to last season and it's got a feel of instant replay.

May not be easy, but Arsenal will have enough to get the win. Heck, it's better they drew Monaco rather than Bayern, Real, Madrid, etc. That's mainly my point.

Olympiakos were there for the taking. They were a live dog but only at home cos they were piss poor team away from home.We should've smashed them by a tennis scoreline or something but our finishing let us down again.Had Vidal not missed that peno in injury time,we wouldnt have been even discussing the probable outcome of the last game.
Juve always looked like they were going through after the away win at Malmo.Even in the last game,Juve looked comfortable enough, they were barely troubled.
