That Final Fantasy 7 remake trailer is nearly at 10 million views on Youtube.

It's not a niche market at all lol.

Honestly, I would have preferred FF8 re-make since I prefer that over FF7 but I am still quite happy and will get it on day 1

I haven't checked but i'm pretty damn sure in views, it's only 2nd to Battlefront's gameplay video and you damn well people are on the Star Wars hype train right now so nothing is stopping that anyway.

FF7 is a worldwide classic. One of the all time greats. I think even those who didn't play it will be quite buzzed because of the hype

Like with Shenmue 3. I never played 1 n 2 since I wasn't born then but I will get the 3rd one 100% because of the hype.

I assume most kids now think the same too re FF7

I checked most of the other hyped games barely scratched 2-3 million.

Battlefront is 10.5 and FF7 is 9.5.

You were not alive for Shenmue 2 which got released in 2001...

But was alive for FF7 which got released in 97

Can't complain though, VII is a great game as well

It s most talked because some hipsters in a room at game trailers had, very unprofessionally, a melt down which has set the gaming circle on fire. A lot of the view is directly related to them.

Of course there is a nice fanboy group who were teens at the tim and are in their 30's now who are also feeling nostalgic. We'll see how its done. Final Fantasy has seen its better days, and Square(enix) has been on a long decline since those days.

You should play Shenmue ASAP. Very good game, and very revolutionary for its time. I think, even now, it is the only game I can think of that was remotely successful with an unconventional lead. I think it was originally going to be a virtual fighter RPG, with Ryo being Akira. How it grew into a story about a cartel father being murdered, a possible homosexual son coming to terms with his own feelings, and deciding to give up any life he had to go to China to kill the cartel leader while meeting his father's love child is a great thing to be a part of.

How is FF7 niche ? It arguably has the biggest cult following of any videogame ever lol

Even though I despise turn based rpg i'll still look out for it when a gameplay video/trailer is out.

Hipsters in a room One of the most popular and critically acclaimed games of all time is being remade and a lot of people are excited about it from 1) because they played it before and loved it 2) they have heard how good the game was and are excited to experience it. End of. Square Enix is giving people what they want.

Lmao they announced FFvs13 (15) 6 years ago and it's still not out. No way is KH being released before 2017.

Late 2017/early 2018 is my bet lol

I haven't pre-ordered it, but I'm definitely getting it. I also haven't watched the trailer for the FF-7 remake on Youtube. I guess I don't belong to the niche group
