More due to Pep's style tbf, i'll be interested to see what Robben and Ribery were doing in that sense before Pep.

because as a CF i would take Martial over him any day
He's a left winger (preparinf for dissent lol), attacking midfielder, second striker. He didn't play CF for Hoffenheim.
He played CF for Brazil once. And most importantly, his character bio on FIFA 15 says he can play CF.

as far as NT goes, it's a big game, not just because they have a quality squad, but for the emotion attached to the game since last world cup and look what happened, red cards, neymar banned, and you lostGanso wrote:since when is a match against colombia big lolMr Nick09 wrote:funny how big games are always nightmare games for some, uh?Ganso wrote:1 goal in 2 starts is not bad lol and he has been great every time he played for us bar colombia, which was a nightmare game for everyone

i said big game, not huge. but hey, if you cant even read the emotional input your players put into games that's on you. and there is nothing to brag about when your team is the globetrotters equivalent of football ntGanso wrote:Mr Nick09 wrote:as far as NT goes, it's a big game, not just because they have a quality squad, but for the emotion attached to the game since last world cup and looked what happened, red cards, neymar banned, and you lostGanso wrote: since when is a match against colombia big lol

As if you had the magical foresight in knowing that one of RM's best players that year would have a struggling debut season in the PL.
60m is what you pay for top tier established world class players.

Raffael is Lucien Favre's favourite son who followed him from Zürich to Hertha to Gladbach. Very important player for the Borussia when he feels like it. Can be invisible once in a while, too, though.Mr Nick09 wrote:Who is Raffael?

Re: Roberto Firmino
lallana, coutinho, and Firmino in a midfield with Hendo behind them.
Solid midfield.
Is it Chelsea? No
Is it Manchester city? No.
Is it better than what Manchester United/Tottenham/Everton/Swansea have? Debatable, but that lot should be getting you an Europa league spot even without mentioning sturridge(who I expect to play <20 matches this season also).

Re: Roberto Firmino
I'm not saying he's a scrub ffs... he just hasn't been good for a whole season and now the Copa America (looked very meh). I don't understand the 40 mil pricetag. If you were talking 20-25 mil, it's fine because he may suddenly perk up. But at 40, you're saying that he's a consistent and good striker, which he is not at this point. He's turning 24 in October too so this is the early part of his prime years. We'll see how it goes.
I mean, i don't understand why Liverpool takes these massive risks for little to no reason. Gignac was free. You could probably get Llorente for half of that from Juve. Heck, i bet you that Bacca could be had for that amount and he's much much much better and more proven.

Lolrente Gignac Bacca is a great player but he is 6 years older than Firmino. And I doubt Liverpool bought Firmino to play CF in the first place. Also he has not been good for a whole season is not true. That's a big hyperbole. Just because he did not match his previous season's impressive stats does not mean he overall had a bad season. Is he overpriced? Yes, definitely. Is he a bad player? Most certainly not. Probably Liverpool's best transfer since Coutinho/Sturridge (whoever they signed more recently).

Re: Roberto Firmino
He scored 12 goals on 102 shots at Hoffenheim (10 in Bundi)... how is that a good season? He was a good creator; but i'm under the impression that Liverpool signed him for his scoring abilities, not his playmaking. He plays the central striker role at NT too.
Just depends what you want. I doubt Liverpool are going to play Firmino in Coutinho's spot. My guess is that they want him in the box.
Gignac was free and has been a productive there for 2 years. My point is that he's a much better signing (especially since he was free) at little to no risk. Yet you spend 40 mil to play Firmino out of position? Just because Dunga is playing him there (and he's not doing so great understandably) doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do.
Edit: This all goes out the window IF he plays in Sterling's spot AND Liverpool sign a proper CF. Then it's a good signing although 40 mil is still overpaying.

I am actually pretty impressed with what the Swans have.
Sigurdsson
Routledge
Montero
Yeung
Shelvey
Britton
and they have added the best African player on earth in Ayew already.
Their midfield is by far their strength.

Before Henry went to arsenal he scored 31 goals in 160 games. So there is a small chance Firmino might do ok .

Re: Roberto Firmino
All of a sudden Firmino is a shit player now that we've signed him
Coutinho struggled mightily at Inter before we got him. He'll enjoy the style of football we play here.
Also getting Bundi players before Klopp arrives Dat Patrick Herrmann, Bernd Leno, and Kevin Volland next ffs

Re: Roberto Firmino
Sterling is being sold 100%. He's replacing Sterling. Won't be CF. Probably will play there only when needed (i.e. when Sturridge is crocked, and Origi turns out to be shit on a stick and we don't get Bacca/Rondon/Benteke).
- Spoiler:
- So yeah with our luck he'll be playing CF
