impressed on his first chance, Luiz Adriano in the other hand looking like the black Fred.

Re: Roberto Firmino
He's been tearing it up statistically speaking for quite a few years now. Long over due this call up. Criminal that he was omitted from the world cup squad for Shakhtar bencher Bermehrd.

Re: Roberto Firmino
the usual " i rated him since period X " form people who never watched a single minute of his team and only knew of him from wikipedia / assist & goal rankings .

I've never rated him, since I saw him play live ONCE 2 years ago and he was clueless while his team lost to a 4th division side.

Re: Roberto Firmino
this is Firmino's first really good season, let's not go overboard here. he was always a decent player but never one of the BL's best - only did something awesome like every 5 games.

Re: Roberto Firmino
Nah last season when I was compiling the most effective player in the world stats he was always in the top 20, he was very consistent.

Re: Roberto Firmino
last season he was the one eyed among the blind (except volland more or less). on top of that 7 of his 28 scorer points he got from playing against HSV, the - by far - shittiest team to ever stay in the league. statistically still a really good run i concede, but from watching the games you didn't get the feeling that he can make a great team tick.
not reus level in terms of influence all round - one of BL's best. this season he seems to make everyone better though.

Re: Roberto Firmino
These were the first games I've seen from him but I already noticed he isn't a great passer for an AM. But he is playing as a striker for us so whatever. It looks like he is more of a striker for Hoffenheim too.

Re: Roberto Firmino
Let us see him in action in the PL before rating him. Same with Depay so Big Mac pls quiet.
From the videos I've seen and few of my mates who have him on FUT, he seems quite skillfull with the usual south american flair. Seems to be creative as well.
Think he will be one of Liverpool's better signings over the past decade or so

Re: Roberto Firmino
if he gets to play as a CF or SS he will be a success, but i have seen that pool fans want to play him on the wing, and that just wont work.

Re: Roberto Firmino
Huh? I think he's our signing to play as striker.
Anyway, over the last two years Firmino has been rated as the 3rd (7.79) and 4th (7.94) best player in the Bundesliga respectively by whoscored. Over this time he racked up 23 goals and 21 assists (3rd and 2nd in the league in assists), top 10 in key passes and also has the highest rate of dribbling in the league over the 2 year span (though finished 3rd in both of the last two seasons). Funny enough he also still averaged about 3.6 tackles + interceptions per game which is nice for a forward.
Hopefully he can translate this kind of success to the PL, where he will be given an opportunity to play in an attacking system with I think a better supporting cast than at Hoffenheim.

Re: Roberto Firmino
His league goals for Hoffenheim in the past four seasons have been:
7
5
16
7
Remains to be seen whether that '13-'14 season with 16 goals was "an accident", but anyway, I'm glad we've signed him. €40m, that is a massive fee, though, does anyone know where it ranks in Bundesliga's records?

Nr.1, together with Javi Martinez. The Bundesliga clubs are usually comparatively responsible with their money (even Bayern and Wolfsburg who have quite some money backing them).Art Morte wrote:€40m, that is a massive fee, though, does anyone know where it ranks in Bundesliga's records?

But its just 22m pounds as of now, Will rise to 29m max. 40m euros makes it sound bad.
