Klinsmann getting nominated is purely political. Especially when you look at other managers who were just as impressive not getting the nod.

You can't tell me what Hitzfeld did with Switzerland is not as impressive as what Klinnsmann did with the US.

It's a disgrace that Costa Rica's coach wasn't nominated imo. Especially when the list is filled with frauds like Pellegrini, Sabella and Conte and guys who achieved nothing this year like Van Gaal and Mourinho.

There was nothing impressive about Klinsmann did at the WC. They made it that far despite of Klinsmann not because of him.

I do think he was impressive in getting some top talent German kids in. There was a time where those kids would have lived in political wilderness rather than waste time with the US team, but he has inspired a few to give them a try.

But these awards are always about name recognition. Simeone deserved to be in it last year as well and was ignored.
