Going unbeaten in the league only is quite overrated
To be honest I doubt anyone would still be laughing if they should win the league+cl well I hope that's not going to happen

RealGunner wrote:For me Matic is Chelsea's best player. The most important too. He is a fantastic midfielder. Does everything right and he isn't just a holding mid either, he reminds me of Ballack minus the forward runs.
Let's be honest he and Fabregas are both irreplaceable, they have a lot of quality players but no one that can provide what they do.
They can get away without Costa and Hazard a lot more IMO.

You guys do know this was the flukiest loss in football history? These *bleep* somehow scored with their only two chances of the game.
Cahill has moved into the fraud XI alongside Hummels after today. @ anyone blaming Mikel for today's loss. Had a good game.

Re: How big of a pounding are Chelsea going to put on the EPL?
Yeah because you bombarded our goalkeeper who never played a PL game in his life with loads of chances
He made one decent save in the entire game and that was a Luis pot shot from 30 yards.
Colback's one on one with Courtois was a better chance than anything you created and you needed a sending off to even get your goal
Hazard, Fabregas and Costa were non factors, that's why you lost stop searching for excuses and acting like you missed loads of chances

The win was because of Pardew outclassing Mou. Accept it Mole and Gil.

Just registered to tell everyone what a pile of crap this is. You barely created a decent chance and only started threatening when Steven Taylor got sent off. Also Colback's chance in the first half he missed was better than any Chelsea chance. Now follow your leader and go blame some ballboys like a good lad

Re: How big of a pounding are Chelsea going to put on the EPL?
Meh, no one at Chelsea cared about the record tbh. The media and rival football fans were the ones obsessed with it for some bizzare reason. An average team like United 10-11 went until February unbeaten ffs, it holds no real significance for us.
Hopefully this serves as a wakeup call for the rest of the squad. All it takes is an error like Cahill made for the opener and you lose a game you were in complete control of.

Everyone but Chelsea fans were talking about the record before the newcastle game, and after the game its still everyone but Chelsea fans talking about it, its honestly not a big deal at all. Better to be beaten in this game then by City or early in the CL

This, I don't understand how you can complain about fluke wins after that CL run. I was able to see a few minutes of the match, and all I really saw was Chelsea being outplayed tactically.

Re: How big of a pounding are Chelsea going to put on the EPL?
There's nothing fluky about Lampard dissecting prime Barca with two legendary passes. We were down to 10 men and Bosingwa was playing CB ffs.
One of the greatest wins in football history, the most notable example of solidarity, sacrifice, belief and quality in trying circumstances.
Glad that win still burns your soul though while everyone will forget about this game in a week or two.

Re: How big of a pounding are Chelsea going to put on the EPL?
First leg was the biggest fluke in football history I don't see how you can deny it.
Barca had enough chances to score 10 goals and on another night they probably would have, it wasn't like your defence limited them as in years gone past they waltz through it at will.
Doesn't count though because it doesn't suit your agenda as per.
