United with dat grit and steel
Playing with RVP is like playing with a man down so when the demons inside Rooney decided to give him a break United ended up with two men down.

Rooney sent off.
Mata back as a no.10
Defensively we're still a bit shakey, but we showed mental strength at the end to get the points. Players need to learn to not panic and hoof the ball though.

It was a truly ridiculous goal, I scored a goal like it on PES 5 on the PS2 lol.
I never replicated on a game so I doubt Pelle ever will lol.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V3
I thought Liverpool deserved the win today. Well then again, deserved may be the wrong word?
They had the chances and possession to warrant the win but they're far from the team they were last season and aren't taking those chances. 1 point from 9 against teams they would have swept aside last season is a concern.
Everton are also struggling and it can't just be the loss of Barkley that's causing it? However, that late goal will be a boost and I expect both Everton and Liverpool to click in to gear at some point because you can't go from being so good last year to being as bad as they've been in their last few games.
Can you?

tottenham are so so shite. they could have really KOed arsenal here and instead allowed them to get back into it by playing negatively. Wont be surprised if they lose it now from here. pochettino is way overrated it seems like.

Can't believe we didn't smash them. Absolutely gutted. We dominated them 90% of the match. Only ourselves to blame
Bit funny how Spurs are regressing with each year though. They were not even playing a derby game but a game against a top team and acting like a relegation team.
parked the bus from the 1st min till the last
2 points dropped

Unbelievable that Poch kept Ade in for all 90 minutes. He was absolutely invisible. Kane has shown promise when played and Soldado scored just last match.

I didnt hear this talk when he dominated Costa last week.
Like he is the only good defender to ever score an own goal trying not to let a ball get into a dangerous position.
You didnt even watch the game and still criticising him
Flaws? I am yet to find a 23 year old centerback which doesnt have some.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V3
We are so bad defensively and so toothless in front of goal.
Majority of our goals have all been from set pieces, bought so many scrubs and as usual everyone hyped them up to no end........
Ridiculous. If we stop this changing formations/trying to adapt to players we bought rather than let them adapt to us we won't make top 4 this season. And we need to go back to playing a CONSISTENT style, you would of thought Rodgers would of learnt this last season..........

Because I know Costa very well. He has been dominated by Pique and Mascherano every single time they've faced each other. Has scored 0 goals against Barca in about 10 games if I'm not mistaken. Costa is such an archaic centerforward - not particularly pacey, not trickery, just running the channels all night long and bulldozing his way towards goal - all you need is physicality to handle him properly. Which Mangala has. The fact that Chelsea parked a mean bus against City also played its part.
Anyway, he might do well in the long run. But from what I'm seeing he had a total shocker against a below average team and although 23 is young he has a lot of first division football and even CL experience so for me that's not an excuse.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V3
Really worried about the lack of goalscoring chances we're creating atm, and our recurring defensive problems. We are worse off then how we were at any point last season.
On the other games.
I think Liverpool and Everton have both regressed just like us and Spurs. Was a really dull game and teams don't look like they know quite what they're doing.
Only Chelsea look they're set atm and quite honestly the results and table shows that. City also playing like they usually do, and thus still they look short and/or vulnerable on defence.
United have a plan which they're working towards, but obviously they're still short.
Saw Austin's goal y'day and was like "Woah " then I saw Pelle's goal and I was like " that shits on Austin's."
Tbh that goal was Henry-esque.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V3
How did Mangala dominate Costa? Tired of the media storylines football fans keep perpetuating. Costa had a free header he should have scored from and a left footed shot that hit the post. If either of those two chances had gone in would Mangala still have dominated him?
Did Terry and Cahill dominate Aguero since he was invisible for 90 minutes?

If thats the case could you say that it's similar to how Arsenal had played against us last year at WHL? Because the stats seem to definitely suggest so. I'll give a comparison between the two games:
Red = Arsenal, Blue = Tottenham
- NLD 2013/14:
Goals: 0 1
Possession: 60% 40%
Shots: 17 7
On Target: 2 3
- NLD 2014/15:
Goals: 1 1
Possession: 69% 31%
Shots: 16 6
On Target: 6 4
Yet did we deserve to win because we managed to defeat you in every statistical number except the scoreline?
