Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
Roma eye Aston Villa’s Benteke
By Football Italia staff
With striker Mattia Destro's departure again up for discussion, Roma are reportedly looking at Christian Benteke to replace him.
Rumours that the Giallorossi’s young Italian may be departing for either Milan or Arsenal are again in the air heading into the January market.
Today, Il Messaggero reports that the relationship between the player and his current club has reached the final stages, with his representatives meeting with Walter Sabatini this week to determine a solution.
According to the same publication, the first choice for a replacement going forward would be 24-year-old Benteke, who has a contract with Aston Villa until 2017.
His potential arrival remains contingent on the departure of Destro, though.

if this involves ddg moving in the opposite direction (very very likely), a firm no. Should get a young pacy winger for 1/4th the price quoted and say thanks but no thanks to mehdrid.
lol it is more likely that this is made up and Bale isn't going anywhere just like DDG isn't going anywhere

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
i wonder if Simeone is became crazy . He paid Cerci for 16 mln just some months ago from Atletico . besides Torres is a ghost ( I said it in his thread, I had no doubts about the fact he'd been a Serie A flop as Diego Forlan ) , there are better CFs than him in Serie B ... It is not just a loan because Cerci will become a Milan player after these 18 months as it had to be for Torres originally
I can't believe still for this deal .

Has Cerci failed to adapt at Atletico or he has been found out?

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
His biggest contribution was getting a red card against Valencia. Hasn't started a single match as yet and made only sub appearances. So, he probably isn't talented enough to adapt...

He arrived at Atleti out of fitness on account of not having a pre-season. When he has played recently he has played well, but it took him some time to make up for that lost time.RealGunner wrote:Has Cerci failed to adapt at Atletico or he has been found out?

I don't really know what the problem is, but i'll take Cerci who is in his prime and is proven in Serie A over a washed up Torres any day of the week.

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
Atleti require a ton from their strikers... they have to defend hard AND score goals. Cerci just doesn't have the skillset.
In fact, i don't think Mandzukic is going to last very long either. He tries really hard... but he's just not fast enough to keep up with the pace of play required by Simeone.
Torres has the pace to play the system at least... not sure about the rest lol.

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
Mandzukic has 14 goals in 22 app. I think Simeone would be stupid to get rid of him. Unless he can get Higuain, there is no one else out there.

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
I can't see Torres succeeding anywhere atm, he's been really miserable for us. Working hard but just achieving absolutely nothing. To get a player like Cerci that most of Europe wanted last season, and for free no less, is amazing. Galliani

What? He has started all CL games and in 13 of 16 La Liga matches. I don't think he's going anywhere.

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
Not doing much though in league play. Atleti's scoring is way down and he's only got 6 goals in 13 starts there... shooting very little too because he's just a bit slow to get into the scoring positions on time.
Had a great game against Olympiakos in CL though. Doing well in that tournament.

Right but I think if he were losing confidence then he wouldn't be getting that many starts. A goal for every 2 starts used to be considered a great ratio.

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
for top teams, the main scorer (whoever that is; not necessarily the CF these days) targets .6 or better. For the other teams, .5 is very good.
The issue isn't the ratio tbh. It's the number of shots. He's taken 30 shots total in 13 league starts. For a poacher and the main scorer, that's really low. He's going to fall far short of 100 shots for the league season unless he picks it up.
If he was getting 3-4 shots per game and missing, then it's form. But when he's getting just a little over 2 shots per game as the primary scoring target for a team like Atleti... he's just not getting into position enough.
Anyway, i haven't watched Atleti a ton... but the games i saw, they used Mandzukic to hold up the ball initially and then he was slow to get back into the box once he moved the ball along.
I like him though. Very good at what he does. But i think he would have been better served with a team that didn't ask the CF to do so much outside the box like Atleti does. It's not really his game.
Hope he gets it together though.

Arsene contacting Ramos' agent lol
"Erm, Ramos for sale?"
"Of course he is. Would you want Ronaldo, Benzema and Modric with him too?"

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
Sadly even the half credible sources are turning bad just because of seeking attention.
However it mostly depends on the club/league. BBC, Telegraph and Times are credible along with Guardian. But They all report what they have been told by the agents who lie 60% of the time. BBC gets their information directly from the clubs so they are the most reliable and usually use facts.
Di Marizio is quite good with the Italian clubs.
