Downing, Adam, and Carroll the less said he better of them All brought in ahead of other targets because apparently they were PL proven. Same with Robbie Keane under Rafa, we opted for him because he was PL proven.

I understand Bony is probably better than a lot of those mentioned above but it's hard to say so far as he's only done well for a midtable club.

Lacazette on the other hand while also a risk, he at least has the attributes that we need in a striker. We need a striker similar to Sturridge and Lacazette definitely is much close to Dan than Bony.

Roma eye Aston Villa’s Benteke

With striker Mattia Destro's departure again up for discussion, Roma are reportedly looking at Christian Benteke to replace him.

Rumours that the Giallorossi’s young Italian may be departing for either Milan or Arsenal are again in the air heading into the January market.

Today, Il Messaggero reports that the relationship between the player and his current club has reached the final stages, with his representatives meeting with Walter Sabatini this week to determine a solution.

According to the same publication, the first choice for a replacement going forward would be 24-year-old Benteke, who has a contract with Aston Villa until 2017.

His potential arrival remains contingent on the departure of Destro, though.
