Re: Daley Blind
I like him, he's won me over, but I don't think you can take out Herrera to bring in more physicality because your DM is not very strong. It's an area I still think we'll have to eventually upgrade on, but he's definitely not a liability and very consistent, you always know what you'll get and a really smart player too.

Re: Daley Blind
My bad
Mark Ogden @MOgdenTelegraph
Confusion over Daley Blind from LVG. He actually said he's 'not out for six months' and that injury not as bad as initially feared

Re: Daley Blind
Blame Man Utd for the confusion tbh.
On the bright side Carrick, De Gea and Di Maria are fit. Shaw is a doubt though.

Re: Daley Blind
McNair and Carrick coming in for Rojo and Blind is not so bad. Same for Smalling and Jones. The only place the injuries really hurt us is fullbacks, if Rafael (I hope he's lying) and Shaw are fit that's still a strong side. If Rafael is out it's obviously not ideal, but it's better than Shaw being out because Ox>Cazorla right now.

Re: Daley Blind
Having Carrick coming back in time to replace Blind is just the bit of luck we need right now.
Shaw and Rafa being fit will make our current injury probs heading into this game not look so bad.

Craving to see the diamond again. We are so shite offensively if we go with that 4-3-3. Main Reason being van persie finds it so hard these days to play effectively as a lone front man. If it was falcao at the tip then it would have been fine, but not with this declining Robin.
So... go for the diamond and let di maria handle this.

Re: Daley Blind
That wasn't my preferred line-up, it's what I think van Gaal will play on Saturday if certain players are fit. I like the diamond too, but van Gaal has reasons for using 4-3-3, plus Arsenal is a big game, not using the diamond is a bigger issue in smaller games.

Re: Daley Blind
yea but still I cant see us scoring a goal with that formation but can very much see us conceding one or even more.
As much as 3 players are ineffective in that setup. Van persie as a lone striker, januzaj as the right winger and most importantly di maria as the left winger. I know falcao getting injured has made things easy for Louis once again to put a defensive formation on the pitch but ... hmm...
I know its pointless to say this as we are all aware what he is going to come up with on match day but still I will ...just say ... we need to score goals I guess to win. Their defense is struggling as well. If we are in a position we should take the game to them rather than sit back and hope for some fluke goal from somewhere.

Re: Daley Blind
Agreed, anything to bring Di Maria where he's most effective. Maybe, Mata on the wing, Rooney upfront so Di Maria can play in the center? Would even play Young on the wing if it meant Di Maria back to his best position.
Also apart of the lack of creativity is not the 4-3-3's fault, there was no Herrera. No surprise when we went use the midfield of last season, we played like last season. Fellaini is like our Ramires you use him in certain games, and when you do use them you have to make sure there's enough creativity elsewhere. That's what we didn't do.

Re: Daley Blind
thats right. Herrera has been one of our main catalysts this season whenever we put in a good show. So it wasnt at all a surprise when he didnt play we missed someone very vital in that midfield especially to pull the strings.
And fellaini yep. he is a horse for a course. You deploy him in certain matches to take advantage of certain scenarios but you cannot depend on him to deliver everytime and if you do that you are inviting trouble.
Yea I am all for it too.
But then van perise is undroppable in LvG's eyes.

Re: Daley Blind
It's sad watching van Persie, I really like him, but he's struggling and should be dropped. Our only hope is if Falcao for RvP to be dropped imo.

Damn, that pass
If he does this more often, it will take his game to another level imo.

What an impressive signing he's been.
Rescued us an underserved point today. Mr reliable.

Re: Daley Blind
Wrong game to praise him, he was poor in the first half today, but then again his midfield partners were a CF and Winger/AM

He got no help, was left too isolated. He did as well as he could given the circumstances.
