I would say CM. He is not a model DM, meaning he doesnt have that natural positional sense for the position. It can be improved, sure, but today i would classify him more as CM.

yes it is a risk , but you can't hope in something of better If you want sell him . Because noone will give 12 mln immediately for Alvarez.   Inter would have sold him with a good offer , it is not a new thing , and Inter decided to accept because hardly someone will ask you same offer or more next year when he was just a back up in this Inter, while the last year he began as starter ( then Inter bought Hernanes etc) , he did well in first half of season and this is the reason because he's appreciated by Poyet.

Of course it's risk , but they are not Burnley, and on paper  Burnley, Palace , WBA , Leicester, QPR  are worse than  Sunderland IMHO . So it s a risk with good chances to be realized.

I would have preferred to sold Guarin instead than Alvarez tbf, but Guarin believes to be a top player and so he refuses offers by clubs as Wolfsburg , or he asks much of salary to Monaco etc

Anyway I think all Interisti must hope in Sunderland saved,  even who is not glad about this selling . It is the best thing for all : for Sunderland ( of course ) , for Alvarez, and for same Inter.
I don't believe in the returns, I think  when you take this step you can't   go back .
If Sunderland should relegate, Alvarez wouid be back depressed in a club who refused him , so you should try to sell him and noone will offer much knowking this need. So whether it likes it or not, the best thing now is these 12 mln become reality next year.

SES' primary position is LW, he doesn't have the vision nor passing ability to play as an AM. His skill set is more suited to the wing, as he is the hardest working forward on our team as well as possessing  the ability to position himself in dangerous positions.

We play 4-3-3 with no AM (although that may change now that Balo is gone). So we might have to revert to 4-3-1-2 if we don't purchase a good striker. Our CAMs are Honda & Saponara.

Montolivo is injured for 6 Months. Honda is really only capable of playing in the AM role, unfortunately. He is not good on the wing or at CM, but he's an option if we need depth in those areas.
