Manchester United have agreed a £16 million deal for Sporting defender Marcos Rojo, with Nani going the other way on a season-long loan, Goal understands.

Rojo is to move to Old Trafford after extensive negotiations between the two clubs, against the backdrop of the Argentina defender going on strike before apologising to supporters and his team-mates.

As well the loan deal for Nani and the initial fee, which could rise depending on a number of factors, Sporting are also considering the possibility of taking Anderson on a short-term deal, an option that United would strongly consider.

dostoevsky wrote:City have been very generous in their transfer dealings with us in the past, it would be nice to grab Nastasic but we've had too much trouble reducing our dead wood at the back to jump on this opportunity sadly. I could see Roma making a move for him if Benatia leaves or perhaps even Bayern if they are serious about a central defender.
