In light of recent transfer developments, I've made some updates to the opening post.

Re: The Season Ahead
the new 2-1-6.5-0.5 formation vs Leicester:
kos-mert
flamini
debuchy-sanchez-ramsey-san(tbc)-cazorla-ozil-nachos
(wait for it)ogo
everyone wants to play at the edge of the box, not entering and not too far back!

Re: The Season Ahead
So....
IMO this is Arsene's preferred lineup
------------------Szczesny---------------------
Debuchy-----Merteascker----Koscielny------Gibbs
------------------Arteta------------------------
Walcott-------Ramsey------Wilshere-------Ozil
----------------------Sanchez------------------
With Welbeck, he either starts upfront IF Sanchez fails/Tactical adjustment. Or he is the backup.
I really really hope Diaby comes back as good as he was. He would be such a huge boost. But can't really rely on that.

When everyone fit, I'd like to see that team.

Re: The Season Ahead
Great line up for Big away games^
just dont seek to control possession(in big games)
control the space and look to break quickly
that team well suited for that

Re: The Season Ahead
Much prefer urban formation than this 4141 crap. Although a toss between Santi and Mesut.

Re: The Season Ahead
right now arsene has no idea about his preferred lineup or the formation, because of his hoarding obsession of midget army.
for the 3 positions behind the striker we have: 1. ozil 2. cazorla 3. wilshere 4. rosicky 5. podolski 6. ox 7. campbell 8. walcott 9. sanchez 10. ramsey
and for the 3 positions at the back (excluding rb): 1. debuchy 2. koscielny 3. merta 4. chambers
this time we can't even play the game of 1st 11 and 2nd 11, because 2nd 11 has no CB partnership.

Re: The Season Ahead
------------Szczesny
Debuchy--Per-----Kos-----Gibbs
--------Arteta----Ramsey
------------Özil
Walcott----Giroud----Alexis
-----------Ospina
Bellerin-Chambers--Steve Bould-- Nacho
-------Flamini--Wilshere
----------Rosicky
Ox------Welbeck--Cazorla
Exc: Podolski, Gnabry, Campbell, Diaby, Martinez, Zelalem, Coquelin, Sanogo
I think a good rule of thumb is that a title-challenging side's 2nd XI should look good enough to at least challenge for top 4. I don't think we can say that with our lack of defenders. We have to hope against hope that we stay more fit than last season.
I'm almost certain Coquelin will get asked to play LB at some point lol.

Re: The Season Ahead
will be real fun when Wenger plays Welbeck on the wings and continues with Sanogo as CF..
from now onwards Poldi and Campbell wont even make the bench..

Re: The Season Ahead
Is quite obvious that we got a squad to work with.
Yes, certainly there are still positions we didn't fill in the transfer window, and our CF that we brought in might be a panic buy or might not be a "worldie". But we have still have a squad of quality players, not just first 11, but a squad!
If things go our way (injury wise and a bit of results every now and then) then I can see us putting up a title challenge. But it all just comes down to Wenger. He needs to implement the right formation first of all. And then Wenger should get his tactics right (I know, I know) but he just needs to find a way really, so that we can play with a certain type of guile and class again. And implement the right type of tactics when up against the bigger boys. He can get help from Bouldie and other team coaches. FFS even our academy coach who is doing so well. He just needs to stick his pride up his ass and realise that from now on in the difference between putting in a serious challenge in the league and fighting out for top 4 again is all on him!
Wenger don't *bleep* up!
