Monaco getting close to signing Antonio Rüdiger of Stuttgart. Plays CB. Apparently very talented and only 21 years old. Already has 1 German HT senior callup (played a friendly against Poland on 13th of May 2014).

Against Poland Rüdiger played as a RB and had a very good game. Last year was his breakthrough year, he had a couple of good games like against Bayern where he showed his potential, on the other hand was quite bad on others... so it was an inconsistent season for him. I don't know why Monaco are looking to sign him to be honest, it's too early for him.

He's not going to be a regular starter. They want to season him next year under Carvalho and Abdennour. Carvalho is likely gone after next season and they want a groomed replacement...

This makes me so happy.Was watching a random Stuttgart vs Freiburg game a while ago and thought Rudiger and Jung had top games.Researched them and found that Jung was the first Freiburg player to get a Germany call up since a Long time.

Watched Rudiger against Bayern though but I didn't think he looked as good.As Urban is saying I think he's inconsistent but looks very good for me.

Also they sold Fellaini and stuff last year; there were then quotes from Martinez about how he was saving his transfer funds to make a big splash or two this summer (as opposed to getting a bunch of players who cost a few million apiece).
