Cuadrado had a good World Cup, he's definitely good with the ball, but at times I thought he should have done more without it.

I don't see how he would be a significant improvement over Nani.

he is an improvement over nani if van gaal continues playing the 3412, which is what i expect.

United best attackers are all dominant in central positions, and swtiching to a 4231 or 433 which is are wings dominant formations, you lose those guys. I dont think Van gaal will do.

So Cuadrado fits the right midfield position in that system. Januzaj can be mata's back up at n10, same as Rooney can play there. RVP forward with Rooney, Welbeck as an off the bench option, and maybe even Nani in some games if he stays.

on the left you have Shaw, when he is not a fatty, you have herrera carrick down the middle and your CBs at the back.

3412 is the best set up for you guys, i think Van Gaal sees that. you just need some depth at CB, CM, maybe LM.

Cuadrado is what I would call a prototypical "United player". Surprised they aren't in for him.

He's a tricky, dribbling winger. Even the very best of that type are not that efficient.

as long as he continues to improve and doesn't hide in key moments it's fine.

Not going to lie. Atletico's signings have been impressive to be honest. They just lack a legit star player. Koke isn't it and neither is Griezmann.

Last season's star player was not Costa or Villa. It was Koke, Courtois and Godin. Koke and Godin are staying while Courtois is refusing to sign an extension (he might even come back to Atleti this summer imo). What Atleti need now are back up players. They are pretty set otherwise but rumours have it that they are after Lavezzi for the Christian Rodriguez role so they are creating a team much more stronger than that last season

rofl

Yeah he broke a 40 year Atletico goalscoring record in a 'defensive' system but he wasn't their star player.

Seemed just fine without him in various important games.

The difference between Costa and Mandzukic isnt that much at all.

Atletico had no star player, stop your hype.

Won more points in La Liga than any other player in the League last season.

Destroyed Madrid, Milan & Chelsea in the Champions League. They did "just fine without him" yet they scraped ast Barca and lost the Champions League final to a scrub team after leading for 90 minutes.

So...what you mean is, they beat Barcelona without him over 2 legs and narrowly lost in a final they were a minute away from winning?

Good argument.

He did nothing against Chelsea, they were fine against Barca and Madrid.

They fell apart due to Felipe Luis injury before the Madrid equaliser because Alderweireld is a scrub.

No other reason, now kindly shut up about Costa until the season starts pls.

no he did not, he simply matched the record falcao established. you dont even have your facts right, like said, mindless propaganda.

costa scored 1 goal in about 4-5 games vs us last year, but he destroyed us, ok.

According to Il Tempo, from Roma, Benatia has been mentioned in conversations between intermediaries of Real madrid and Roma.

they explain that Mendes is trying to bring Pepe to Monaco so he can sign the last big contract of his career, and RM are looking at players on the market that could replace Pepe.

Benatia would be one of them.

You guys know you're setting yourself up for immense failure right? Costa already emphatically made you lot look like idiots last season, I have no doubt he'll do it again with Hazard and Cex feeding him.
