Di Maria's biggest asset wasn't defense though, if anything he was actually pretty average in that department. Our defensive pivot was Xabi/Modric.

Z... r u serious??? Di Maria was a savior on defense. Reason CR7's side was covered well in big games for once since he's arrived. Not to mention Angel did it on both sides: Tracked back like a madman and attacked just as hard.

As a B2B, i think Di Maria is one of the best, if not the best, in the world right now. He just wasn't that good as a winger.

Di Maria can't tackle that well, not the best marker nor does he have any real positioning sense like Busquets. Other than that, he was as good a B2B as anyone last season. Along with his tireless ways, he mixes it well with his undeniable skill on the ball.

Man, if or when RM sells him, it would be one hell of a loss honestly.

What's the difference between pressing and defending for a winger? If he succesfully presses and creates a turnover, is that not defending well?

Hazard was beasting the league 1 and was the best player there for about 2 years, is one of the EPL best players.. Yet its all trendy to call these guys overrated and suck off the hames hype train!..while James is good, no doubt at least other merited their price tags in some way I.E Neymar being world sports most marketable athlete for 2 years in a row and being south Americas best player since maradona (for those that played there), hazard being league 1's best player at the time and costing 40M less and bale being EPL best player at the time bar suarez..so the question is why are these guys still called overated
