the problem for Casillas is, which club will be willing to pay him the way madrid do? only Monaco realistically, they were ready to sign Valdes, they could do the same with Iker.

Pereyra on way to Juventus

Roberto Pereyra is within hours of joining Juventus, as he was left out of Udinese’s friendly against St Pauli.

One thing to note about the Shaqiri link. He's already agreed personal terms. The move hinges on Schalke buying Adem Ljajic for the 15m fee we set for him. We can then use that money plus an extra 5m to meet Bayern's asking price for Shaqiri and complete that deal.

That's the plan Sabatini's going for now.

Wonder how Romas front line will look if this does happen.


Iturbe - Totti/Destro - Shaqiri?

No, rotation, they are trying to become a big team and depth is part of it. They have a better frontline than juventus. A midfield with comparable talent and it's their defense that needs a bit of work as far as fullbacks. It's going to be a fun tourney

Well bench players are there for rotation so I don't see your point.

Iturbe was too expensive to be used in a squad role, Shaqiri obviously won't accept a bench role and Gervinho will probably hit the bench.

I think they're all going to get plenty of playing time with the comps we're in so I don't think there will be too many complaints over who starts what match. It's the midfield that's going to be crowded I think. Lotsa competition there for youngsters like Ucan and Parades.

Better frontline is debatable too mind you. Unless Destro has a breakout season all I see there is by far the best source of goals coming from Totti.

Iturbe cost 22 millions, calma. he is the less ready of all of them, so of course he will understand he is in rotation. 3 wingers for two positions is perfectly ok. bench always has a negative connotation as if it's something dramatic.

Closer to 30M considering his agent fees. You don't spend more money on a player than you have in a long time just to have them rotate in and out of the squad, unless you're absolutely minted and have a stacked squad from top to bottom.

Like I said, Iturbe will not be too worried about playing time. Really liked his interview in which he talks about wanting to learn first and foremost from attackers like Totti. He seems a patient lad on first evidence.

So the Shakira rumours are legit then? They'll almost definitely win La Liga if they sign him.

Ljajic, Iturbe, Gervais, Shakira, Totti and Destro is absolutely fantastic.

Maybe invest in a GK as well to complete the squad. Ochoa or Cech.

I'm happy that Spurs are signing a left back at least. At least they realize Rose is absolute shite and so is BAE.

Now sign a right back and another CB to go along with Verts and Chiriches and Spurs will finally have a halfway decent back line.

People would have said that about Gervais tbf, i wouldn't be surprised if Shaqiri and Iturbe got double figures.

Besides when Nick talks about frontline he's talking about Iturbe, Shaqiri too as they are technically forwards in the Roma system.

Talent wise Shaqiri, Iturbe, Totti, Destro and Gervais is pretty comparable, but we'll see what they actually do.

I think i should have said that Roma ill have a better attack, rather than saying that they have a better frontline.

why? well, Roma's attacking flow is based of wingers spacing the pitch wide and runs coming in behind. they have that quality on counter than Juventus lack and this off season, they have improved on it. Adding guys like Iturbe and potentially Shaqiri will improve their attacking flow, and their quality in the final third. I rather talk about flow rather than talking about how many goals each forward will score. In that regard they are very comparable to Liverpool. Just a very direct team with fast wingers that can beat any fullback 1-1, they amount of cross guys will put in the box will make defenses dizzy.

last year they had 8 less goals than juventus if we want to look at numbers. their signings if i count on shaqiri would take them over the top, quite easily imo.

I'm not counting Shaqiri.I honestly dont believe they'll get him.

We all forget about one thing and that their attack still revolves around Totti.

Besides Destro could well get sold.Lets wait for a few more weeks until both Juve's and Roma's transfer dealings have been completed before we make these comparisons.People are assuming things a bit too much around here imo.
