Back when Barca signed Suarez, I more or less thought, "Why do they want to get him for all that money? They could just keep Alexis, who's doing great, and is younger, and is non-crazy to boot." I probably posted something to that effect somewhere on GL, possibly in this thread.

I didn't think Suarez was going to be a flop, nor am I angry Arsenal got Alexis as a consequence. I just thought it was a huge outlay of unnecessary cash for a very slight upgrade, in a time of big money transfers that seemed just silly.

But in this case I was wrong and this is why I occasionally piddle around on Football Manager rather than make a living as a Director of Football.

What a horrorshow, worst performer after Alba and ref. And that's saying something.

People's champion doing the honourable thing and missing when he know he fouled Ramos. Even playing it off nicely. Getting this out the way one time before ze German reach.

And of course Ramos gets a stupid yellow when Suarez actually had a shocking miss...

suarez wasn't barcelona's worst player, he wasn't even their worst attacker. he was visible, hustled, made himself lively when others disappeared, even got ramos red carded (not a very difficult thing to do tbh)

Given his past record he deserves no leniency from UEFA if they are able to take retrospective action. Should be given a very lengthy ban, he just doesn't learn his lesson.

Expectation from him is a lot and he seems to do stupid things in pitch.



He is the main target man at the moment and he take almost all the opportunity given. Should have away from these kind of incident.

Juanfran's is a red, but c'mon, he doesn't touch him. It's a 1-2 game suspension. Filipe Luis's is a push, not a punch, yellow card is fine.

A one game suspension is what you might expect for a violent tackle but this wasn't even an attempt to get the ball, it's simply an attempt to damage his opponent after the ball had been cleared.

I don't really want him to get a long ban, especially as it might rule him out of a potential final given that we're already in the quarters and it's always a shame to see huge talents missing when big teams clash, but it's also a terrible look for the game to have a high profile player regularly lashing out in quite frankly bizarre fashion.

The Luis push was dealt with and the punishment was fair, though again, it's astounding that having already lashed out once before in the game that he committed a second offence in such a high profile game.

Agree with that. He is a known offender, has served various bans, and yet does it over and over again. Bad example for anyone following the game that he can get away with it here.

Pretty sure Ronaldo got a red card against Cordoba last year and served more than one game for something like this

The type of violent behavior of a player in the situation of Suarez usually results in 3-4 games. Honestly, I wouldn't even complain. What an idiot.

In all legit fairness, that was a bet both him and Marcus had and Valk won. Marcus has a debt to pay...

As for Suarez, such a lovely footballer, I mean, one of the best strikers in world footballer and the man is so dirty and scumbaggery. I honestly have genuine mixed and contradicting feelings towards him as a footballer.
