the obsession won't stop not saying that our team is made up of saints but our players will never sing anti Argentina songs like these mofos.

Don't really get this. I have seen a fair amount of Mertens this season, in fact when Chadli started over him I was one of the first ones here to claim that was insane, and while he has been clutch at times he is definitely a more limited player than Lavezzi. The only thing he has over him is finishing, but Lavezzi's game is more complete.

I agree, the song is a disgrace and I wish they would stop that. I also think they're jinxing themselves pretty f... hard.
That being said, now this song...

I have no problems with the song, I just hate how the players are singing it.Hopefully it is a massive jinx, and if we win this WC I hope it haunts you lot forever

Guys, a team isn't a sum of individualities but a group that can play together.
Having the best players doesn't mean you got the best team otherwise Spain would still be in the competition and Costa Rica would be out.

No one said that and I would be the first to point this out. The argument was not "x team is better than y team" but "x team is more talented than y team" and that can be thought of as the sum of individual talent.
Neither team plays like a cohesive unit to me, imo. They are both less than the sum of its parts which points to pretty bad coaching jobs. Sabella in particular is making a case for the worst coach of the WC, so far Argentina have won in spite of him rather than because of him.

No one said that but everyone compared one Argentina's player to one Belgium's player, I think it's better to compare Argentina team VS Belgium team.
What I mean is that a team full of skilled individual talents who can't play together will be shit compared to a team full of average/good players that plays together perfectly.
Of course individualities matter but the most important is the cohesion of the group, how it plays together etc...
(After all, maybe guys above me just compared players among themselves to determine who's better at different positions without judging the whole teams)

Higuain has been awful. Overall he is a great goal scorer but in this tournament he is just not cutting it. dani mentioned in yesterday's chat we were having that he is being denied space and without that he cannot do anything.
I agree what dani said the other day about higuain. but you can certainly if there was any possibility to have a open game it had to be in group games. here everyone would be tight marked. So whats the point of using Higuain.....i dont understand whether sabella is biased to him or still waiting for him to click......

Thibaut Courtois would be too good for that....any keeper would be enough for us since our players mostly will kick towards gallery
So you mean that if we hadn't got that extra time winner we would have lost in the shootout against Switzerland? I was counting on our pedigree and overall favourable past records in shootouts to take us through.
yeah, so. i dont know what is our overall PSO record, however the recent memory always hauls me. I am not confident our players taking PSO comfortably. thats why i said, keeper does not matter what matters is our players who i think would kick outside bar Messi ofcourse.

zabaletta can handle hazard, no concerns there. But all the concerns lie on the left side where Basanta might get raped by mertens. not to mention federico fernandez's consistent moment of madness. origi
sternest test by a mile its gonna be. Its all upto the Messiah obviously.. Help us legend.......
Hope we will live the day to fight LvG's boys. Ā

Re: [QF] Belgium - Argentina
Well, i was trying to think what Palacio did not do in his short spell last game..headed 2 times though off target but atleast tried the way he should. dribbled past his marker few occasions.....even dropped down to defense......played with aggression inside the box the way a target man should....
even after seeing him in friendly i said he would replace higuain. but sabella favored to stick to his trio...but its time we should start palacio messi lavezzi....we dont have enough to think more...
We already will be loosing Rojo:s contribution to the final third. Palacios movement at least will benefit us there.

@ BC
I have never rated highly Lavezzi , for me Mertens is a better player than him basically , mostly complete etc . But maybe I am not the most unbiased person to talk about the Pocho

Re: [QF] Belgium - Argentina
Argentina need to change their strategy. This whole pass it to the wings and cross to only one player in the box is so poor even Djourou looked good defending it. Also they have to play quicker it's going far too slow atm. There were some cross field balls last game but when a team ptb there has to be more of those to open up space alittle

Re: [QF] Belgium - Argentina
Lavezzi is hit or miss to me.... he either looks good or useless. Mertens is the same. The big difference is that Lavezzi's good form >>>> Mertens' good form. Lavezzi is just a much more talented player.
As far as the game... it's hard to call. Argentina are a tactical mess, but have attacking greatness to bail them out. Belgium are not that great tactically, but better than Argentina. Their defense and midfield are better, but they obviously don't have as good an attacking force.
To me, whoever scored first takes a big advantage.

Re: [QF] Belgium - Argentina
When will Hazard finally step up? I mean this is a guy who has made Zabaleta look like a senior citizen
Now he looks behind Mertens, De Bruyne and Mirallas in terms of effectiveness. Has Gil's hype cursed Hazard forever?

It is really strange how ineffective he has been so far. Maybe this will be his breakout performance? Regardless I expect Belgium to win -- they should win over this mediocre Argentina team.

After Mourinho was hired, Mata was sold, Oscar started sucking, and Diego bosta arriving I was going to stop following Chelsea but if Hazard knocks Argentina out tomorrow I'll be a fan for life.
