From what I read, FIFA is at fault as they wanted a proper light kit and a proper dark kit so that the HD cameras can make better pictures and adidas somewhat went overboard to comply with the FIFA demands. Dunno if that's true though, but England also didn't have dark shorts this year.  

But today against Algeria, I read in the papers that we'll wear black shorts again. cheers

Thanks for sharing this interesting link.

Can anyone explain to me why in some matches it's the team designated as home team wearing it's away jersey and the team designated as away team is wearing its' home jersey. e.g. Costa Rica vs. Greece and France vs. Nigeria.
