Re: DFB-Pokal 2014/15
I like this about German Cup, every team has to start from round 1. Unlike FA/League Cup where 'bigger' teams gets 'bye' into later rounds. Which teams are eligible for German Cup, rwo!!! The number suggest only teams from division/tire 1-3 are eligible (sorry, prefer you over Google).

Re: DFB-Pokal 2014/15
The 64 teams eligible for the 1st round of the DFB-Pokal are:
All Bundesliga clubs (18), all 2nd Bundesliga clubs (18), all Verbandspokal* Winners (21), the 1st to 4th placed teams of the 3rd Liga (4) and three extra clubs from the three largest Landesverbände (federal associations) Bayern, Westfalen and Niedersachsen.
In the first round of the DFB-Pokal, the professional teams (Bundesliga and 2. Liga) are put into one pot and the amateurs (plus the 4 worst placed 2nd Bundesliga teams) are put into the second pot.
The pairings thus are the amateurs (who always get home right) versus the Bundesliga teams. For the lower division teams (we even had a 7th division team last DFB-Pokal, IIRC) it is both a great honour to get one of the top Bundesliga clubs and they get quite some money out of it. The small teams always hope to get Bayern, Dortmund and the other attractive big teams as then they get a huge audience and of course they hope to become a "Pokalschreck" (literally "cup horror") who manage to eliminate the big guns.
*) The Verbandspokal is a cup where only the clubs of 3rd Liga and below are eligible.
A Verband (= "association") or Landesverband (= "federal association") is an organisation within a region in Germany in which the clubs are organised.
We have the following 21 Verbände: Baden, Bayern, Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Hessen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Mittelrhein, Niederrhein, Niedersachsen, Rheinland, Saarland, Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Südbaden, Südwest, Thüringen, Westfalen, and Württemberg, each of them hosting a Pokal (=cup) of their own among the lower league clubs.
RWO - who are currently in the 4th division - belong to the Verband "Niederrhein" and thus fight for the "Niederrheinpokal".
The Verbandspokal winners are usually 3rd Liga and down to 6th or 7th division clubs.

Stefan Kießling one man show against Waldalgesheim: Leverkusen are 5:0 up and all goals by Kießling. And now he is subbed off after 60 minutes to go a bit more lightly on the 6th division team.
The other matches so far:
Chemnitz 2:2 Mainz
Duisburg 1:0 Nürnberg

Re: DFB-Pokal 2014/15
So. Leverkusen won 6:0 against Waldalgesheim.
3rd Liga club Chemnitzer FC fought to get a 3:3 at 90 min and thus the match against Mainz 05 is going into extra time.
3rd Liga club MSV Duisburg is currently (at HT) leading 1:0 against former Bundesliga side Nürnberg (who are now in the 2nd BL after getting relegated).

Re: DFB-Pokal 2014/15
LOL, what a match in Chemnitz! In the beginning, Chemnitz were down 0:2 against Mainz, but then they equalized. After 90 minutes, it was 3:3. Then it went to 4:3, then 4:4, then 5:4 in the 119th minute. And now at 120+2 minutes, Mainz scored the 5:5 over 55 metres from their own side of the pitch! Now we go to penalties!!!
The PSO ended Chemnitz 5:4 Mainz, so the 3rd Liga team are in round 2 and the BL club is out!
The goals in Chemnitz:
And the third match for today - FT MSV Duisburg 1:0 1.FC Nürnberg - the second 3rd Liga club in the next round of the DFB-Pokal.
Typical DFB-Pokal madness

Re: DFB-Pokal 2014/15
So, this day so far only one Bundesliga team was kicked out - VfB Stuttgart lost 0:2 to VfL Bochum.
Then Yann Sommer had his first competitive match for Borussia M'gladbach - the game ended Homburg 1:3 BMG, and the goal against was no fault of Yann Sommer whatsoever.

You sure you didn't think of Hamburg? Homburg is a 4th division side of the Regionalliga Südwest. ^^

Re: DFB-Pokal 2014/15
Well, maybe you could try http://www.zdf.de/zdf.de-startseite-3982.html with a German proxy and then look for "das aktuelle sportstudio" in the ZDFmediathek. They should have the highlights of all matches. Right now it is still the live stream, but I think they should be viewable for a week or so afterwards, too.
