We were just the morons who couldnt see that.
but Cesc has Barca DNA, surely that should have been enough for him to be transformed into a super catalan pass master

He can pass, just cant put him under any pressure while doing it.
Nor will we come and actually receive the ball from anyone deeper than than the half way line.

Re: Official: Chelsea sign Fabregas
Can someone explain why Arsenal fans despise Ashley Cole, Van Persie & Nasri but have so much love for Fabregas? He *bleep* off when Arsenal needed him most despite being Arsenal captain. And lets not forget going on strike and inviting comments from Puyol, Pique, Xavi, Ineista et al.
Now he's on the verge of a money to one of your biggest rivals yet Wenger is getting loads of abuse for refusing to bring him back. Beyond sentimental value there's simply no need for him at Arsenal when you have Ramsey, Cazorla, Wilshere & Ozil. Seems Wenger has emphasizing DM, RB & ST positions this season and rightly so.
Even if you brought him back where do you play him without completely destabilizing the teams balance?

60 - Fábregas has been involved in 60 goals (28 goals & 32 assists), more than any other La Liga midfielder in the last three years. (Opta)

Differences in perception, basically. Cole, Nasri and van Persie left for the "money", while Cesc left to "go home and be with his mates", when in reality they all left for the same reason: to win things with better teams. What also helps is that he didn't join a rival team. I don't think the sentimentality would be quite as strong had he "gone home" to, say, Man Utd or Chelsea.

Unfortunately sense is currently lacking from some Arsenal fans. They're in absolute meltdown on Twitter now, saying we lack ambition (for not signing a player we don't need) and that we're going to have a crap summer and not sign the players we do need (because not signing a player you don't need means you won't make any signings at all, apparently).
Things like how he'd fit in the side tactically, how it would alter the balance of the team, and how we have other more, pressing needs are being ignored in favour of him being "world class", a well-liked ex-player and the fact that nobody wants him to go to Chelsea.

Actually, comments from Jose seem to point in the opposite direction.
I don't think Jose minds the transfer, I think the board are the one pushing for it though.

Barcelona's forward line is half crippled. When in mid, he still has not adapted and keeps You Obviously Love Owls charging forward.

Apparently Fabregas said this in 2010:

He never said that. But he told Mourinho to shut up and mind his own business when criticizing current Barcelona team.

LMAO his statement:
"I considered all the other offers very carefully and I firmly believe that Chelsea is the best choice. They match my footballing ambitions with their hunger and desire to win trophies. They have an amazing squad of players and an incredible manager. I am fully committed to this team and I can't wait to start playing."
