What is 1991 on about? Okay fine your country's going out of the WC, Suarez hurting you at club and international level but that's just uncalled for.
he was a scrub to Inter, but anyway he has always fought so much.
All the Urugayans players are so, even the Uruguayans scrubs as Gargano.
Oh , maybe only Recoba was lazy

In a way Italy resting some players might work to England's advantage.. Italy do have a fair bit of depth.. Players trying to prove themselves for the finals instead of players who feel they have nothing to play for.
This is all supposing Italy beat Costa Rica of course..

Since a victory doesn't even guarantee going thorough, let alone first place, it probably won't happen. Maybe if they destroy Costa Rica, but I doubt it

Buffon has been really bad this game, Sirigu should start. And cant believe Chiellini is playing worse than Palleta 1st game

Re: World Cup: Group D discussion
Tactics all wrong in this match, sloppy passing, Abate keeps hoofing the ball into the defenders who are already being closely watched by Costa Rica players, whole team looks disjointed.
Need a change or two ASAP

Costa Rica
I hope they can hold on now, would be great if Italy v Suareguay was a game where only the winner will go through.
But again, Costa Rica

Re: World Cup: Group D discussion
Costa Rica the better team in the first half as the score suggests, will be interesting to see how Italy will react in the second half.

Re: World Cup: Group D discussion
Costa Rica I believe! What a team.
People will talk about how poor Uruguay and Italy (so far) have been against Costa Rica but hats off to them, they've been great. Costa Rica should be up by two, that was the most blatant penalty I've seen this world cup. I don't know how it wasn't called.

Costa Rica remind me of Mexico in a way: Not great on paper, but superb team chemistry. Something that England have totally lacked. The Costa Rica players seem to know what their team-mates will do and are pro-active to that, England (also some other teams, like Belgium) seem to just react to what their mates do.

If they win this match and secure progress, they deserve two threads.
