I get your point but you said the "defense" becomes a shamble. A shambolic defense doesn't concede 0 goals in 630 minutes of football, regardless that you can obviously keep a clean sheet even if 1 defender individually performs badly. I'm obviously not watching all PSG games, just a few and he never stood out as someone stinking up the place as you describe him to me. And again - he's 20. About 7 years away from his prime. I rather look at his raw skills and I see a lot of T. Silva in him.

Just name me the games where he sucked particularly so I can watch and then say whether I can confirm or not.

Our defense has conceded 33 goals. In 10/11 it was 21. Considerable decline considering our possession game. You can obviously not compare with Almeria and Rayo.

in that video, I don't see there is one instance where Mascherano is standing in the right place and when he is he gives away a foul.
you could also see that Bartra for majority of the game was outshining him.

Not really an "unknown quantity" given his time with Munich and a full season of Bundesliga starts under his belt. He's not an established player by any means, but then it's not Liverpool's policy to pursue established stars so this is the type of move you should really expect from LFC.

You're both speaking as though this is hypothetical when it's going on right now and reports have already confirmed A) LFC's interest and B) the asking price for the player (£25m rather than £20m). It is worth noting that in the current bloated market £5m actually isn't a massive amount... which really says something about the current transfer market.

I was a little surprised that United gave Evra another year.

I was actually hoping United would sign Shaw for £30m (and £100k a week) as I don't think he's worth that much.

The only reason we would go for this guy is if Carlo sees DiMaria as a permanent CM. Too many times this season when Bale got injured DiMaria had to move up and the midfield became very poor. It makes sense to have him as Bale's back up and Jese as Ronaldo's. We need to prepare for situations like this season if a player gets injured for a whole season we need someone else to step in. But I wouldn't pay the rumoured fee at all

Evra's new contract is not surprising, Vidic, Ferdinand and Giggs have just left....

That story is a tad contradictory. United aren't favourites but no other club has made an offer or even willing to match our offer scratch

yes, Jese is out for a very long time as well. it's not so much to have man for man replacements, if Jese wasnt troubles, we wouldnt have been interested. but he has a nasty injury and you dont know when he will be able to come back and perform again. makes sense. We suffered a lot from not having Jese this year, as well as a competent back up CF. We overplayed our forwards and paid for it in la liga.
