Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Napoli manager Rafa Benitez is keen to sign unsettled Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano this summer, according to the player's agent.
The Argentine international is believed to be unhappy at being asked to play as a centre-half - a position he has adapted to since signing for the Catalan side in 2010.
Benitez worked with Mascherano whilst at Liverpool, bringing him to the club from West Ham in 2007, and rumours of his interest have circulated all season.
He is now thought to be weighing up the best option to convince new Barcelona manager Luis Enrique to sell, something Bernardo Bovarone, Mascherano's agent, has eluded to.
He told Napoli-based Radio CRC: "Benitez would like Mascherano and he's evaluating different options to try signing him.
"Why does he want to leave Barcelona? The club told him he won't play in the middle of the park, so when choosing his next destination, that will be a fundamental thing.
"Mascherano feels he is a midfielder and wishes to play in that role."
Bovarone also confirmed that the 29-year-old still has a good relationship with the Napoli boss.
He said: "They talk frequently. There is interest and Benitez is not giving up."

Peter Lim has been trying very hard to get into footy. He tried buying Atletico,. didnt work, tried valencia, didnt work, went to see berlusconi for Milan, didnt work, and finally he is putting his hands on Valencia.
I hope he comes with money and seriousness. That being said, starting your project signing Rodrigo is one odd move. lets see how much Benfica robs him for that

Manchester United believe they have made significant advancements in their pursuit of Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos, sources close to Old Trafford have told ESPN.
After two months of negotiations, the United hierarchy is now confident the principles of an agreement are in place for the 24-year-old to become the first of potentially six high-profile signings.

Rodrigo is in the ranks of Isco and Koké of España's most overrated talents.
Valencia can do much better than get him for Benfica's likely high price.

- Spoiler:
I don't think Rodrigo is overrated at all. He is a great player who is good enough for slightly lesser teams such as Benfica and Valencia. He will make their attack alot better. I am glad they will get him. If they can add wingers and CMs they will go a long way in sorting out their weak areas imo

Agreed
Rodrigo and that Otomandi defender or whatever his name is, is a great start for the summer for los Che. I liked Edu Vargas while he was there, too bad it was only on loan
I wonder if they are going to keep Oriol Romeu or what they plan on doing with the minfield. Ever is rumored to be headed to OM so they have some holls to fill in that area

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Banega is already gone to Argentina. They sold him during the winter transfer window iirc
I think Keita has been very good for them, sure they can get a DM but I think they should get the necessities the first season and gradually add players anually
Getting Rodrigo and Garay will be a very good start for them even if they fail to add to that during the summer
if Lim holds the rights to Garay does that mean we get our €10 million when he transfers to Valencia

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
What you think of Muniain is irrelevant considering he's had a fantastic season in all aspects while Rodrigo is still being treated like some up and coming talent despite being 23, and having done *bleep* all in his career of flopping important games and what not. Iker bar one season has been a performer since he was 17-18.
Rodrigo couldn't even perform in the U-21 WC and was being outperformed by Morata in all games.

Nick you read the Españole media. Rodrigo is still touted as an "up and coming" talent despite being a known quantity by now as the context they use to describe is similar to how Italiani raved about Giovinco when he was 24 as a talent.
Since our media is so ignorant in what happens in Portuguesa fútbol they forgot Rodrigo's age.
At least someone like Jesé with his limits, has ample time to show a propensity to improve himself...and he will.

Tomwin in brings a bigger point. LOLrente thrived alongside Giovinco yet with headless Tevez who was only concerned about deep runs to score, it couldn't work. LOLrente in Atheltic with Susaeta/De Marcos and Iker running off of him was pure sex. Iker-LOL chemistry is off the charts.

Thought Banega was loaned in the winter, not sold

Banega's loaned out, wasn't permanent. Still think he could he offer a lot to a big club. Underrated player.

So... Banega is coming to OM soon as has been reported a while back.
But here's a kid i know nothing about. 19yo Brandon Bolivares from Chili. Anyone know anything about this kid? He got his medical done in Marseille over the weekend.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
English Premier League club, Newcastle United have reportedly agreed on £2 million a deal to bring highly rated Tenerife forward, Ayoze Perez to St James’ Park next season.
The 20-year-old has been tracked by a number of clubs within Spain and abroad including Porto who, according to Depor Press, have had an undisclosed bid for Perez rejected, but the report goes on to add that Newcastle have matched his release clause which is believed to be around £2 million.
The striker, who has had an impressive season in the Segunda scoring 16 goals, has flown to England where he will now discuss terms with Newcastle United and is expected to be Alan Pardew’s first summer signing.
Despite Newcastle triggering the player’s release clause, the two clubs still need to sign a document certifying that the clause has been received, which as of publication, has not been signed by both parties.
Nevertheless, Perez and Newcastle has agreed to terms and once the document is signed, the 20-year-old will be representing the Magpies next season.

I've never heard about or seen this Perez guy, but surely the 5th highest scorer in Spain's second division cannot be the answer to Newcastle's striker worries?

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Well if we have any plans to stay up next season we are going to need many more signings in any case.... if not relegation beckons.
So i'm not bothered if he's the answer or not because if he's the only forward we buy then we deserve relegation.
As for the player himself, he does sound promising from what i read here..... http://inbedwithmaradona.com/journal/2014/4/15/ayoze-rise-of-the-boy-from-mara-jimnez
But as always i would be concerned by any young player being coached by Pardew.
