Cilic and Djokovic in the semi. Definitely going to have two explosive semi finals. As well as Anderson has been playing can't see him beating Stan's backhand.

And yeah agree with you Gasquet is a better allround player than Berdych, it's just that I can't remember Roger ever losing to Gasquet Laughing *touches wood*

She will deserve it if she wins the final., certainly not before the final or even the semi final...

Yeah of course.

I just meant that she has been so dominant the last 2-3 years after that mini mid-career blip. I honestly didn't think she would come back and dominate the game like this. It has been impressive and she has fought adversity/criticism her whole career, add in that she genuinely is one of the all-tinme GOATS - so I for one honestly think she deserves a calendar slam just because of that.

Federer dispatches Gasquet with ultimate ease in straight sets.

Stan doing the same to Anderson.

Federer-Wawrinka
Djokovic-Cilic

Great semis.

Djokovic destroying Cilic. Man I was hoping for a 5 setter. Cilic has some mental barrier against Novak. He's so scared of him.

Pressure got to her. You could see she was almost in tears every time she lost a point.

Women tennis is very poor in this whole generation tbh. Serena is not at all mentally tough. Champions need to be mentally tough. If she played in a dominant era I don't think she would win near as many slams as she has simply because she cracks under pressure too much. It's just that most of her opponents simply can't put her in that pressure situation. She dispatches mostly everyone so easily.

Anyways what she did was still incredible.

Really disappointed my girl Caroline Wozniacki never went any further in her career when she practically dominated the women's tour in 2010 I think.

She is one of the best female defensive players I have seen, but has no offense at all Laughing

Belinda Bencic looks like a talent. She already beat Serena at 18 a few weeks ago. Think she'll be the next big thing.

She's still there. But looks more like Wozniacki and Sharapova than anything dominant. Bencic has some panache to her game.

Dude Sharapova is gonna be in the Hall of Fame. She's got a career slam. She's been doing well in Roland Garros recently. Won 2 or 3 recently iirc.

Man I was really afraid of him facing Stan, but wow I can't believe how easily he dismantled him.

Can't wait for the final. The good thing is both players will be well rested having only played 1 hour 30 minutes each and not some marathon 5 setter.

Could be a classic.

His least recent major, after he won it for 5 years in a row from 04-08.
I have a really strong feeling that he'll win this final this time around. He has come close so many times before against Novak in grand slam finals in recent years, think he'll know what to do this time to get over the finish line.

I don't think Federer will win a 5 setter.

This need to be very short 4 sets or 3 sets and done for Federer to win. You cannot outgrind Djokovic. Specially not at 34 years of age.

But the best thing about Federer's current form is that he's so good at conserving energy. He's unbelievable efficient with this. He literally throws opponent's serving games if he loses the first 2 points cheaply. His service game is unbelievable good where he barely loses energy on his own serve. Doesn't like long rallies at all unless they are in the clutch. He goes for the winner the second he sees a rally is going longer than 5-7 shots. He wins tons of cheap points on serve and volley. Scares the shit outta opponents with his new trick the SABR on their second serve.

If he plays at his best during the final then I don't think Djokovic will beat him even if the semifinal Djokovic shows up. I wasn't at all afraid or that impressed of the semifinal Djokovic. Cilic was just so awful and injured, it was the same old defensive Djokovic just against an opponent who was scared shitless and chocked every shot.

Been reaching countless finals since then as well. Clearly and by far the second best player in the world in the last 2 years after Novak. So I don't know what troll attempt this is.

That if any other player of the equivalent of any other sports went 5 years winning the equivalent of a grand slam just once he would be constantly abused. Hell Messi gets it every year lmao.

Also no he hasn't been 2nd best to Djokovic during that time because even Murray has 2 slams lol. He gets off extremely lightly considering how scrutinised his peers are.

Everything he does is awesome and nothing he does can be criticised because apparently one slam in 5 years doesn't matter when it would be scrutinised to anyone else.

He's in a perfect world where he's seen as a god even after mainly 5 years of failure, nobody else in any sport would be afforded the same luxury.
