What's wrong with Felipe Luis anyway? I mean he's not young, but he's not old either, he still has a good 3/4 years in him and he's one of the best left backs in the world and the alternatives are too expansive (Shaw) or simply not as good.

Plus they already bought Siqueira if I'm not mistaken, that only means Felipe Luis in on his way out

Why get Luis when you can get Rodriguez for the same price?

Plus, I am living in feint hope we can sign Pogba, so I would like to see a cheaper LB come in.

I have no problem with Luis.

I have no problem with any decent LB, actually. I'd be more than happy to see the same back 4 as last season start this season.

Yea okay, but we won a league back in 09/10 with A. Cole having the same age as Felipe Luis and being one of the best players in that team, we won the CL with Cole being our most reliable defender and the only guaranteed starter two years later.
Age isn't an issue, the issue is having a leftback who is defensively a rock and that can actually contribute going forward just like what Cole was for us and what Felipe Luis is going be.
Plus it's not like there are as adequate alternatives, IMO.

The deal for the 6ft 3in, ball-playing centre-half would make him one of the best paid youngsters at the club.

The Irons joint-chairman David Sullivan is desperate for the 15-year-old to snub their London rivals to continuing his education at Upton Park.

Sullivan said: "It almost makes you give up on having an academy if they can come in and nick your best 15-year-old. What's the point?"

Oxford, an England Under-16 international has been tracked by Arsenal and Chelsea for some time with his talents likened to another of the club's academy graduates, Rio Ferdinand.
